As someone whose trying to make a push in the hobby with value boxes to start. I love this series
@DNorbs72 жыл бұрын
I got back in the hobby about 6 months ago, and on the flipping side, value boxes have been huge for me. I always assumed people only put their trash in those boxes (and yes, some DEFINITELY do), but there also some who definitely have good stuff & great prices as well. CC2 def influenced my thinking a lot - seeing someone who's already "made it" in the hobby & can spend like 40k at a show also dig through value boxes on the regular made me realize that it's definitely part of a wining strategy. :)

Best part is 13:50 going through the value bins and the kid with the Cubs hoodie on wondering if you're talking to yourself or him.

I really like this series. It’s a lot more realistic for your common viewer to spend two bills than thousands. Seeing cool things come out of bargain bins is nice. Seeing you accomplish the task in just an hour makes it more fun.

Been doing this for years and flea market value box finds are the best. The guys set up have very low overhead since they pay $40 for an entire weekend. They always restock and what I flip from my buys gets me into some bigger cards. Great job. Keep grinding!

Been really doing well w/ the value boxes myself lately. I sometimes find it more fun finding a hidden gem than buying a bigger card from a showcase. Last show the guy had a $7/3/1 box, and I grabbed quite a few $7 cards, mostly numbered/parallel stars. Sold a few of them for $15 or more that day on EBay when I got home. Not crazy money, but that adds up. Thanks for the inspiration. 👍

Great idea of value boxing!! You and other blogger/vloggers should have a value box battle at a show hold content till after a whatnot sale and best profit for set limit take all or the title "value box King/queen" with new challengers at each show Finale at the National. A beat Bobby Flan with a card collector spin

That Artest/Jefferson was a tough choice. Probably woulda leaned towards the Jefferson just being #’d /25 compared to the Artest being out of /999. Love the vid idea Ryan! Please make more of these

Love the videos! How do you determine which tables to stop at initially for value box plays?
@DNorbs72 жыл бұрын
My simple strategy is just to grab a stack and see if there are cards that are under comps (hopefully well under). If one stack looks good, it's likely an indication that the box is worth investigating. This is especially true for determining crappy value boxes - if you look at the first five cards and think, "why would anyone pay $3 for that?" then it's likely the rest of the box is poorly priced too. Seems like some sellers just want to make as much as they possibly can for their worst cards (cards nobody wants) with their value boxes, while others actually put stuff in there that is interesting, well-priced, & desirable.
@Embiid-xc2be2 жыл бұрын
I would’ve probably went Richard Jefferson. He’s pretty popular on social media rn and just a likeable guy in general. Also way lower numbered than the artest.
