I bought the SX on the launch and this is my first car. I bought the automatic version and I live in Himachal Pradesh where I have to drive it almost 90% of the time in hills and narrow roads. Does the job and all my friends and family love it! Never had any issue whatsoever and the hill assist is a life saver when living in the hill stations!

Satisfaction priority, not popularity.. Believe me.. Using this black beast 1.2 years.. Got from first slot SX at 8.9 lakh that time, everything there.. And a tata indica even hit from behind at 70km/hr without a major damage..(proof in channel). Mai to bhai satisfied hu product se Hyundai LOVE YOU.. 🔥🔥

I am using the S variant, and I am pretty impressed with the mileage. I drove around 7500 km. On the highway, I got a mileage of 21 km with AC, and in the city, around 16-17 KM. I really love this car.

Recently I just bought Exter SX variant! I must say the car is super smooth to drive and the features are acceptable, only thing I felt the missing part is arm rests for driver and rear passengers. Also mileage is good, I tested out on highways 17.5kmpl is what I am getting now. Power is decent but dosen’t feel underpower as it has 4 cylinder

I loved the khaki colour as well the cosmic blue but khaki is common now and my family didn’t approve. Knight edition as it was new from the factory. Hoping for the same positives as you experienced. EXTER IS HAVING SAME SUSPENSIONS,INTERIORS,SEATS,SEATING HEIGHT,ENGINE,APPROACH AND DEPARTURE ANGLE AS I10 NIOS,WHICH IS NICE AS PER THE PRICES OF NIOS BUT NOT AS PER THE EXTER,EXTER'S SUSPENSION MANY A TIMES BOTTOM OUT ON BAD PATCHES,AND ITS FRONT BUMPER LIP TOUCHES THE GROUND IN A BIT BIG SPEED BREAKERS ,ITS TYRES ARE ALSO Very UNDERSIZED AND THIN,WHICH IS NOT GOOD AT ALL FOR CALLING AN MICRO SUV.

Yes, the Exter doesn’t like being driven on bad, pothole-ridden roads. It’s best to go slow over speed bumps, especially with four passengers, since the underbody can sometimes scrape if you take it too fast - which we’ve mentioned in the video. That said, the ride quality is pretty decent in most city and highway conditions, and you’re unlikely to feel any discomfort during regular drives.

Crash test safety ke bahut saare components me se sirf ek hai. Good crash test ka matlab bina dusre safety feature ke kucch bhi nahi hai. New rules ke hisab se aaj ki date me punch bhi crash test me five star nahi la sakti jab tak usme six airbag nahi aate. Crash test ke alawa bhi dusre saare safety features hone chahiye tabhi gaddi safe kahlati hai.

Its safe, i having exter now since last 11 months. My previous car was wagon r. In first long drive my car got hit by a bus. Back side impact..... it was a 30 seater type mini bus. Car was damaged but luckily we all were safe. In that accident i realised it has got a decent build quality. My father in law never sat again in mg car 😅

I have been driving past 9month there are lots of great features, but missing are handrest, headlight throw literally very poor not recommended night driving with stock light, rear seat is 2.5 people not properly 3, ground clearance seems to be 185mm but approach angle is not so that great, boot loading space bit higher when you load heavy bag it tend to scratch surface and 391 figure absolutely not right here, like promising front designing back design could have improved may be its kept for facelift, though i am fully satisfied with it except those points.

I have seen this review From the outside, the Exter looks like the best option as a first-family car. But that’s not the case. Here are three reasons why you shouldn’t get one: First, the suspension. It’s not ready for heavy loads. If you are travelling with just two people on board, it will deal fine with potholes and speed breakers. But with a full load on board, it starts to crash through the same surfaces and feels uncomfortable. Second is the comfort factor. The Exter is tall and has a lot of space, but it doesn’t feel as comfy for longer drives. The seats are set low-both front and back-so it feels more like a hatchback than an SUV. Also, the boot space figure is massive on paper-in practice, it is like any small hatch-two suitcases. Third, the engine is not punchy enough. The Exter's 1.2-litre four-cylinder refinement is excellent-it's also responsive for city use. But when you want to drive faster or are travelling with your family up mountains, the engine will feel lethargic.

Having owned this car for the last 14 months, I have a different opinion. I have driven the vehicle with full load with 5 adults and 2 kids both on highways and bad roads. I don't see any issue with suspension , comfort or with the power. Even with 140 speed, the vehicle is stable. You don't feel like the engine is over stretched. The only issue I see is with the sudden acceleration. You feel lack of power during this time.Not sure if this is an issue with the power or with AMT. Definitely, this is not an SUV but better than any hatchbacks.

@Tejasri2013 Exter has crossed 1 lakh mark and selling around 7000 units per month. If one compares to Punch number (which also has EV version), then it is less . But definitely it's not a failure.

That’s a very interesting observation and a valid point. It’s odd how a basic feature like push-button start-stop is only available from the SX(O) variant, while the sunroof is offered starting from the S variant.

Thanks for leaving a comment. Just to clarify, this isn’t paid or branded content. We’ve always made that clear whenever it is. Also, it’s easy to spot branded content since most of it avoids any mention of a car’s drawbacks or missing features - which we’ve covered. Speaking of its looks, that’s subjective. We agree it can be polarising but a lot of people actually like the Exter’s styling. It’s still selling close to 7,000 units a month - not quite at the Punch’s level, but still decent. As someone pointed out, the Exter has also taken some market share from models like the Grand i10 Nios and Maruti S-Presso among others. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good option for anyone in the market for a micro SUV/large hatchback.
