Gurkha is trying to follow the don'ts of TATA Nano marketing, they are trying to mask their flaws to the choice of a masculine customer..... But the fact is no masculine customer would love to choose a vehicle with low range of torque, less responding gear box and and slower 140bhp vehicle less comfortable than a Bolero with a basic quality plastics in fittings..... Please try to update as per Indian Standards...!!! We would love to buy one.... Critic's allowed!!..

Have used 2018 ( 5 door ) Gurkha faced Multiple issue with the vehicle wear & tear, Engine is Baap, But the rubber biding of doors or the seats get damaged easily in 8/10 months, We serviced in Pune in their workshop but some spares were unavailable, shocking was we were not getting the Hand Brake Cable for almost 2/3 months and the Oil Pump rusted that though we were surprised, Hope this is Good and Reliable , At Last engine is superb,

Continuous wheel bearing failure. Even skoda doesn't have wheel bearing failure. Mileage of 8-9kmpl. Price of near 22 lakhs. If I have this much money. I'd buy Innova/Isuzu vcross or an Mg Zs ev ( mg zs ev I can run for free as I have rooftop solar ! ). Middle seat is useless and non adjustable. Normal 5'8" adult will have difficulty sitting. Changing seats with other cars etc will cost 50,000 or more depending upon how ,any seats changed etc. Articulation is poor, even thar and jimny have better articulation!!! Which are not hardcore offroaders. You only need to spend small amount to get difflockers aftermarket. Parts rust. Media system is pathetically useless reminds of 15 yrs old aftermarket 5000 system. Plastics and other things are fine. No petrol option. Diesel will be banned in 2-3 years. Already life reduced to 10 yrs in all metros. No automatic option at 22 lakhs is idiotic. Don't give expensive/failure prone excuse. Torque converter based zf transmission are the best and most overbuilt in the world. Except for good Ac nothing good about car. Fails in all aspects.

Its a compromised car. Just see that digital instrument cluster. It lags when we rev more. They seriously lack planning. They should have given the semi analogue meter which would have looked more pleasing and atleast wouldn't feel like a half hearted job. This should have saved them money too which they could have utilised to improve fit and finish

For starters, it is all good but hope they have added a cabin air filter and the snorkel needs to be at the opposite side of where the driver's side is. They also need to add breathers on the differentials with flexible hose opening at a higher level. The bar that extends out in the front on top of the front windshield is perfect. It looks good and hope it is as reliable as the older models. Is there a bash plate beneath the engine and the beneath the floor under the frame? I would definitely get one soon.

People buy Gurkha only for it's presence or Looks. For everything else there better options. Used fortuner or Pajero sport, Jimny or Thar are superior options from overall standpoint I feel. Having said this, everyone's heart wants a Gurkha in their garage irrespective of any or all it's shortcoming. 😂

Clearly shows your knowledge on cars when you're comparing a Jimny or a Thar with a Gurkha which delivers far better performance than both those cars. A used Fortuner or Pajero still would cost more than a new Gurkha.

Gurkha is the better off-roader because of the features it offers as stock: more powerful engine, better low end torque, higher ground clearance, locking diffs. These are the things which are essential for off-roading. I'm actually amazed that we are having this argument.

Gurkha has lesser power and torque, lesser ground clearence, way lower power to weight ratio than the Thar or the Jimny. Get your facts right. It also has poor wheel articulation when compared to Jimny, Thar, Old Thar, Fortuner or Pajero/sport. Locking diffs is not a solution, it is a necessity in Gurkha I feel!!! Don't get too emotional. I have probably done more off road hours than you've spent in your well polished teak wood armchair!

@@riteshnayak80 If you can read, here are the specs: Gurkha: 140 HP (power), 320 Nm (torque), 233 mm (ground clearance). Thar: 132 HP (power) 300 Nm (torque), 226 mm (ground clearance). Jimny: 103 HP (power), 132 Nm (torque), 210 mm (ground clearance). If you know basic maths, you'll figure out which numbers are greater and which are smaller.

Mercedes made gear box in gurkha. This year box is actually for farm tractors. Same gearbox in g-wagon. Yup, you can call Mercedes if you don't believe me.and this is the reason why gurkha is the best off roader.
