Coming from someone who is bilingual and has studied various languages I can say that certain forms of comedy are not easy translatable across all cultures, and someone's sense of humor that can be found charming in a certain language can come off really awkward in another, also sense of humor does vary across cultures so to be so charming and witty in more than one language is no easy feat, which is why I'm so impressed that Belcalis Almanzar is as funny as Cardi B

Babu B it’s not as hard as you think. Many of us who have parents that are immigrants (mine being from Mexico) are fluent in our native language since it’s what we grew up speaking at home. Some parents are ethnic yet don’t teach their children their native language which is sad
@BabuBMakeupArtist6 жыл бұрын

@robroux60746 жыл бұрын
Babu B is right...many immigrant children forget their parent's languages.Growing up , many of my ethnic classmates forgot their mother tongue and only spoke it informally. I had to re-learn my parents language by going to their homeland; to hear how the younger generations speak it. I would imagine, that it is easier to learn your parents language if you go back to their homeland.It's usually the kids who didn't want to take the trip to the motherland that forget their parent's language. I could tell that CARDI B really cared about her heritage , even with Selena her Spanish was terrible(even tho she's tex-mex) and JLO also had to re-learn her heritage after she blew up from selena.But you could immedeatly tell CARDI B is being REAL and Authentic with her spanish.

She does her Dominican slur impression when she doesn’t know how to say something. Even that is ridiculously exaggerated.
