PR isn't just about doing damage control or trying to elevate someone's popularity. It's also a way to maintain popularity, to have the public continue to talk about you, and to possibly change one's image. So yes, neither Travis or Taylor need the popularity boost but I'm sure the increased or long-term benefits are worth it. I don't remember the last time a celebrity couple received overwhelmingly positive media coverage.

It boosted both of their careers. Travis is now a house hold name cuz of Taylor. I had no clue who he was until he started dating her. She got him a younger fan base and Taylor benefited from the NFL cuz they kept the camera on her at all times and was even promoting her album. I don’t care anything about them and am not their target audience but I constantly see them online. As soon as I pull up the internet there they go!
