dr. mike you posted a short video about blood pressure and the reason why the diastolic blood pressure is not zero but 80 mmHg, I couldn't find the answer could you please explain it to me?

It is basically because the arteries are elastic. So when the heart is in the diastolic phase i.e heart is relaxing and not pushing the blood in arteries, during that time the elastic arteries which were previously stretched (due to the blood pumped by the systolic heart) and coming back to the original shape and this creates the diastolic pressure Blood pressure is simply the pressure on blood vessels (usually arteries) due to the blood in them...

@@WarisAli-uj6rt thank you for your reply, in that short video that dr. mike posted some one said that it is because ventricular refilling that immediately occurs after relaxation and dr. mike liked the comment, I just can not understand the relation, could you please explain it to me?

@@peri6851 Haven't seen that video or comment But shortly the diastolic blood pressure is because the elastic arteries (coming back to their shape after being stretched) takes over and pushes the blood forward
