He has been awful. Thought he'd be gone when we got mullered by Rotherham and Millwall at end of last campaign. The powers to be wernt convince so it dragged on and on through close season, yet another costly error, about 2 million, we are a joke.

The last time Cardiff City played 3rd-tier football was in the 2002/03 season when they finished 6th and won promotion via the playoffs (Division 2 at the time). The last time Cardiff City suffered relegation from the 2nd tier to the 3rd tier was in the 1984/85 season (21st out of 22 teams that season). What's even crazier is that they suffered a second successive relegation in the 1985/86 season, this time down to the 4th tier.

As a Cardiff fan, I would say our biggest mistake was getting rid of Steve Morison. Many fans disagree with me, but that's because they don't look at the bigger picture... We got Steve in off the back of a terrible run with Mick (7/8 game losing streak) and he came and steadied the ship, whilst also beginning to change our style from direct shite footy, to more modern progressive football. He had a summer window then, that consisted of having 16/17 arrivals (costing a mere £2m overall) and 12 outgoings of first team players/regular starters. The club was entering a new era, all whilst having a transfer embargo looming as soon as the season started (which was the reason why we could only spend £2m on those arrivals). The season starts and the style being played was so refreshing to see, and I enjoyed seeing what they were aiming to do and what the potential could've been. The only thing lacking was a goalscorer. We would get into great positions but could never find the net with Max Watters as main man. Then, we signed Callum Robinson (included in the £2m worth of arrivals) on Sept.1st. 3 games later, Steve is sacked. Many of the players (inside sources with tye club) were shocked and fans were too. Then we get Mark Hudson as gaffer, who had no clue how to attack, I think he's now set piece or defensive coach at Shef Utd. Then we get Lamouchi, who was mediocre. Kaba, robbo, and philogene were the players that saved our season. Ever since that Steve sacking, we have been lost. For context I think Steve had 8 points before being sacked, sitting in 12-14th.

Agreed, Morison seemed to be thinking longer term and sacking him at that stage of the season seemed like a massive knee-jerk decision from the board. He made a ton of signings in that window and wasn't given anywhere near enough time to shape them into a team.
@FootyViews
@FootyViews 3 күн бұрын
@WinstonSmith685 biggest mistake they've made in years imo. In terms of the football side of things, the worst decision they've made full stop (so that's not including the change to the red kit). I really hope our next manager has a vision like Steve. I don't mind if we have someone that makes us sit back as long as he makes us into the best counter attacking team in the league. When you look at the underlying stats, Bulut was destined to fail. I didn't renew my season ticket for the first time in 12 years because I hated his style and thought he was shit. Let's see who we get now and I will start turning up again to support the boys.

What are these owners on ? Also who do they think that their ownership deserves ? If the owners spend top money on players that the managers don't really want then it's going to end badly. Madness from too many owners. Another good vlog Ben

as a Cardiff fan I think its the right call, and I have mad respect for what Errol did in his first year as it was critical. we made great signings and tried to adopt a style of play to move up the table but there is a clear disconnect between the coaching staff and playing staff. something isn't clicking. I expect that to change. And I think it speaks volumes as to why the higher ups were reluctant to extend his deal in the first place. I assume they had these transfers in mind and maybe another manager to lead them but couldn't get things going.

Some interesting points there, but as you're a Preston supporter, what's your opinion of Ryan Lowe? He's definitely one of the names being mentioned. FWIW I think it's imperative we employ someone with Championship experience, given the position we find ourselves in. Mowbray would be a popular choice if he is back in good health and plenty are keen on getting Nathan Jones in, due to his local connections, although that can work against a manager just as easily as it can work in their favour.

We will go through this process every season until tan is gone. No one wants to protest no one wants to do anything about it cos he gets some safe pair of hands in,in February and we stay up and our fans are given false hope going into the following season. Bulut was the best version we’ve had of that,but from January onwards the stats pointed towards this type of start happening (didn’t expect it to be this bad,no one would’ve). The managers don’t get a say over signings, hence why we have about 6 players who would be a 10 but also an 8 and the ones that should play,don’t and there is no long term vision. The worst thing to happen to us was Warnock because it gave Tan this belief that promotion could be done on a shoe string budget and that’s all he’s expected ever since, meanwhile Dalman and Choo are happy for it to go along while they take money out the club. Any team in the championship,count your lucky stars you’re not run as badly as us!!

You mentioned that he wants to change his style of play by reducing “long balls”. He starts with Kanga up front who is a target man for long balls one would assume, because he’s shite at any else. Why wouldn’t you play Callum Robinson who has the better movement to allow the team to play with the ball on floor more? Why wouldn’t you push new signing Alex Robertson into the more attacking midfielder position to utilize his play making abilities? Why would he loan out players like Ryan Wintle who played in 42 games for Cardiff last year? He had no style of football, technical ability or management skills from what we could see. Bullied players who spoke out about him, wouldn’t play them or got rid of them. All round never should have got another contract for this season. Last year we got lucky with late goals and goals from set pieces. His signings haven’t improved the squad, we lost good players who played well on loan for us last season and sold our best CB to a rival team in the same league. Whoever gave him the contract extension should be sacked with him. Honestly I think he’s the worst manager I’ve seen at Cardiff in the 20 years I’ve been watching them and we’ve had some shit before. Would usually wish managers good luck when they move on, I know we haven’t been consistent or given mangers time at the club to build for the future. But Bullut “Piss off mate” you’ve been crap. All we want is a manger to be given time who has the ability to play some attractive football we can enjoy watching for once. I think some mangers forget that we the fans pay money to be entertained.
