32:32 The formal structure of intergov relations will have to change...as a minimum, there will have to be a more concerted effort to achieve consensual decision making...

39:20: 'So there's my starter for 10: ...commit to remove the final anomalies in the Devolution settlement, accelerate the process of Devolution within England, show respect for the process of intergovernmental relations, concede on some policy outcomes specifically to acknowledge the interests of the Devolved parts of the UK, use the power of the urse to create collaborative projects to show how the UK Government works for all parts of the UK, and reform processes in Whitehall to make UK Government Governance issues foremost and central to all the that the UK Gov does... ...this is modest...no need for a Constitutional Convention...but I fear I live more in hope than expectation.' ^^ He's not wrong. Westminster doesn't give a crap. We need structural change.

An English parliament is not the answer; it would be even more dominated by the South East than the UK government is. About six regional parliaments within England that can focus on the local society, it's economy and needs, are needed.

The Broken Biscuit Company is widely despised but broadcast systems engineers must have had some input into increasing the number of English Regions from four to twelve. Add in the three National Regions and you have the basis of fifteen states with a small federal administration for things like security, defense, international relationships, etc. That would appear to be how the rest of The World does things, but arrogant Brits (apologies to Northern Ireland) seem to prefer uniquely different ways every time. When someone wanted to publish a critical article about The BBC they made reference to The British Basket Corporation……...

@@gavinstacey8862 Britain is what happens when a state is based on the idea of a feudal monarchy rather than an alliance of groups of people with a mutual interest severed by working together. Dividing England into 12 regions is too many. Remember London is nearly 20% of the population of England and over 30% when you include the commuter belt. You can't spilt that into multiple regions. Thing is London needs completely different economic and social policies from the rest of England; it might make more sense for London to become an independent state.

Greater London accounts for around 22% of the GDP of The dis-U non-K of Blah, Blah, Blah. I agree that London-upon-Thames makes as much sense as anything, but try getting The Scottish Independence Wallahs to accept that succession. Will people living in other parts of England accept that Londinium is worth the cost of it’s defense from sea level rise. My principle concern is to protect myself and my assets from a potential break up of The Union. As a UK citizen born overseas, I should be able to pick which fragment I end up living in, hands up, three of my grandparents were from south east England. “An alliance of groups of people with a mutual interest severed by working together”. Fantastic. The “Westminster System” is the tail that wags the dog, so I’m not expecting common sense to break out any time soon. Good fortune to you @The Other.
