This is another transparently Holy Man. I was probably as much as anyone I knew in the Ratzinger camp in 2005, and I miss him multiple hours every day. But I have great reverence and love for Arinze, who is the picture of a man who effectively communicates his faith, and he is playing a large role, alone with Cardinal Turkson in the explosion of Catholicism in Africa. Cardinal Arinze I love you and your steadfastness and support for Pope Bendedict XVI. But what strikes me is that when it was mentioned that Holy Father that he was clear headed and firm and could not have rushed the decision, that is what puzzles me. Arinze is great! I'll never forget when he gave a speech at Georgetown and ripped into them for not having any Catholic identity anymore (i.e. crucifix on wall in classrooms,having pro-abortion faculty members, etc.) and he ruffled their feathers and offended the libs. That's when I knew he should've been our Pope after JP II. Nothing against Ratzinger, but we need a more energetic, younger Pope who is NOT European.
