Thank you Cardinal Burke for this Christmas message. All my family celebrated the 12 days of Christmas. When I moved to the South everyone has there decorations up right after Thanksgiving and all the parties and house visits are before Christmas. Right after Christmas everything is ts taken down. I still try not to do anything until Christmas Eve and leave it up until after Jan 6, but I am the only one around doing this.😓 Merry Christnas to you and thank you for your leadership in our Catholic faith.🙏

@dianefrank3688 ~ certainly glad you posted your experience Diane...my Christmas has pared down in my new studio apartment...my Birthday twin Sis Nadine gifted me one of those "Fresh Cut" paper trees, but I still haven't put it together, yet; but first, I need to take my daily blood pressure using my "bp wrist monitor!" It's a challenge looking forward to Epiphany, as Jan. 6, was my late Dad's Bday - The Feast of Three Kings! What is it that some folks have done? When a family member will be late for the Christmas Season? Maybe, keep the decorations up...hold onto their presents...then, again I'm recalling Timmerie, a radio host on Relevant Radio, kept the large Nativity Scene figures in the hallwaycon the second floor. Her first daughter would "hug Mama Mary!" Timmerie couldn't display the Nativity figures outside. Best to stop now. A 🎄Blessed 💮Christmas & A Safe, 🕊Peaceful 🍻New Year to you, Diane & yours❗

I grew up before artificial trees. Stores were closed on Sunday. We cut down our tree and decorated it on Christmas Eve. It remained up for 2 weeks. It was a slower time more focused on what is important. I miss those days. To quote Shawshank Redemption, “The world got itself in a big hurry!”
