Probably reason the shield almost always get it first pick. Is because The evil forces behind the waves, interfere with attacker summoning. It either by causes them get off path for ritual or they kill before before contact is made. But don't think defender will survive long enough to do anything.

Actually the other 3 don't get there first choses do to them having a very high likelihood of dying right after being summoned. Possibly do to the upsetting people in power and being seen as someone to be removed.

Ah, so that's why Naofumi is such a better hero than the others. He's a starter while the other 3 are 3rd string benchwarmers.

Yep, on the bright side they should be getting better in season 3 though itsuki doesn't complete his arc up untill season 4 territory, i really hope we get a season 4 that does that scene justice.

The shield spirit chooses its first choice The sword, spear and Bow spirit First choice always die upon summoning So they always get losses with defects Granting them a second life

When did Ren unlock the Wrath series? I'm pretty sure Motoyasu unlocked the Wrath series after vol. 15. This was mentioned in the Reprise of the spear hero vol. 2.

Ren unlocked Greed and Gluttoney series. Motayasu unlocked the Lust series (ironic).
