The way I am doing it right now is: 1. Moderate-Intense cardio: 45 minutes 2. Weight Training: 25 minutes Lost 4 kgs (8 pounds) in 4 weeks without starving myself. Though I have been eating cleaner than before. 10 more kgs (22 pounds) to reach my goal! 😊

Exact same thing I did and I lost 5kg in 3 weeks. Run 7-10k, 5 or 6 days a week. Do strength training: 100 push-ups, 100 squats, and 100 variations of core exercises (I switched those up from day to day). Usually went with four sets of 25 reps each. Got into incredible shape. However, I’ve tried that same routine without the cardio and didn’t get nearly the same results. Run, bike, swim…do cardio. It’s great

You can lose weight and gain muscle lifting weights in a caloric deficit. That’s how I’m doing it. Went from 335 to 289 in a month. Sometimes you hit a Plateau for like 2 days of the week but because muscle breaks and builds up but after that the pounds drop.

Both can be used for weight loss, depending on how much you exercise and how much you eat, but cardio burns more calories for the same amount of time, so it’s probably better to do cardio for quick weight loss, but weight lifting if one wants to lose weight as well as build upper body strength.

It isn’t just about burning calories it’s about hormones, weight training increases HGH and testosterone, long periods of cardio increase stress hormones that flood the blood with sugar burning/ fat storing hormones. Muscle burns more calories than fat so the more ripped you are the more fat you will burn and remember cardio induces stress hormones in the body that create the flight or fight mode that stops fat burning and runs on sugar for energy

I may get drilled for the diet I’ve been doing, but I am hoping I can get some constructive criticism from everyone. I’ve gotten to a point where I can fast for 3 days at will, and during this fasting period is when I concentrate on cardio. When I do break a fast, that is when I concentrate on weight training. I consider my self fasted 15hrs after my last meal to give some cushion room. My last meal tends to be before 9pm, soon noon the following day and on I do nothing but cardio. Then, I’ll eat healthy, but a lot, for 3-4 days while I do nothing but weight training. I’ve gone from 207lbs on 8/31 to 169lbs this morning 11/22. Has anyone out there done something similar?

to help with the weight loss i honestly recommended incorporating more cardio into your workouts. u should probably do 4 days of cardio and 2 days of weights then a rest day for the best results. also refrain from constantly weighing yourself bc that will put u in a constant cycle of checking the scale and shutting down when it’s not the weight u want. regardless weight loss is going to take time so weighing urself constantly is not ideal. stay in ur calorie deficit maybe even cut off an extra 100 and eat more cardio with weights and trust me in a month or two u will see the weight melt off of u.

What You Need To Do: I hate to tell you this but I think you need to do weight training atleast 3 to 4 days a week. 2 days a week is not enough. Make sure you’re actually challenging yourself with the weights- increase the weight of you find it too easy. For instance if you do bicep curls with 8lb dumbbells and you’re not struggling by your 12th rep- you’re not doing it right. Try to shoot for 3 sets of 12 reps of each exercise.And you should walk 10 000 steps every day ( start with every other day first and build up). You’ll see a difference. Also watch your diet- eat enough protein , otherwise your body will break down muscle.You can never out train a bad diet. Why this works : muscle burns more calories than fat. So if you weight train - in the beginning you will gain more weight - that’s because your putting on muscle, which is also denser / heavier than fat. So by weight training - you’re burning muscle during the workout and even after because your muscles are using calories to just exist. Muscles use up the most calories. The 10 000 steps is a gentle cardio exercise to aid in your weight loss. Cardio doesn’t help put on muscle so it’s just focused on burning calories. So you only burn calories during the work out. Also walking is a nice gentle cardio to start off with

Are you sure that you’re consistently eating 1800-1900? People tend to underestimate their calories / food intake. Edit: what about exercise besides 2x weight lifting. Are you sedentary or active? Adding some cardio may help, tbh. Especially if you lead a mostly sedentary life style.
@mustafafh4402
@mustafafh4402 6 ай бұрын
Its simple, based on your information (Sedentary life) you need 2100 calories to maintain your weight In order to lose weight you need to eat 1600 calories to lose 1.1pound a week 1100 calories to lose 2 pounds a week Now I suggest you don’t go crazy on the weights, because muscle weight will go up, so make it light to medium lifting 20-30 minutes is enough to see results in time OR you can do walking, its much easier than weights and its a hospital for your body, , 1 hour of brisk walking daily is good. You will burn extra 250-300 calories, meaning you get to eat more 250 calories on top of your calories goal, or just leave it be and lose more weight! Make sure you nourish your body well within those calories eat a variety of food Meat or fish Eggs 1 type of legumes 2 types of whole grain Fruits and berries Vegetables and herbs Yogurt

Excessive cardio reduces testosterone in men and it's viable for muscle loss
@joelouden6592
@joelouden6592 3 жыл бұрын
@@mambamentality2663 Excessive EXERCISE reduces testosterone, including strength training. Both long-duration, moderate cardio and short, high-intensity cardio cause an increase in testosterone just like strength training. Overtraining in bodybuilding will cause the same drop in testosterone as overtraining in endurance activities, and sometimes even more so due to muscle inflammation/cortisol. Plus, the testicles put out the same testosterone pulse regardless of body size. So a man carrying excess muscle will have a smaller amount of natural testosterone at any given time than a man with the same size frame carrying less muscle/weight. Even very lean muscle mass has fat mixed in with it and fat releases hormones like aromatase that converts testosterone into estrogen. All of the above is why bodybuilders and large strength athletes take steroids.

Weights are actually easier and less tedious. It took me 42 years to realize this! I should have started this in my teens! My actual weight has gone down and all I have tried to do is tone by lifting weights. Had I known that..I would have not did all those years on a treadmill and just did weight training! I lost the weight a long time ago..but I'm flabby. Weight training is where it's at for both toning and slimming down and it pisses me off I was dumb enough to not know this when I was younger.

Exactly, cardio makes me more tired and low. While weight training feels energetic. If we do weights our body burns calories through out the day. And I really enjoy the soreness I get. If you are already fat, you are im the perfect position. Lift and keep improving your lifts and you can basically chisel your body in timely fashion. All because you are used to eating so much and have essentially skipped the bulking process, keeping muscle takes a ton of energy, meaning whatever you eat now in 3 months wont even make you gain weight, you'd probably have to eat more to maintain your weight. If you are a skinny man, you need to eat. A lot. You need to get fat and turn it into muscle and cardio will not let you do that. Unless you are a competitive runner or swimmer, then you need to bulk and lift.

Do weight training first and burn some calories. Once you are done with that, do some cardio to Increase the total calorie burn. This is the simplest method. Doing only cardio is the shittiest method to improve the body as you would start getting only leaner without any muscle growth except the calves or some muscles here and there.

The real question would be what type of "weight" are you losing? The more muscle you lose, the more you slow your metabolic rate. As far as which one, I suggest doing both and scheduling it in a way where you get the best out of both of them. I personally love to jump rope for 20-30 min in the early AM to start my day. Then I lift in the early afternoon with no negative impact from the jump rope.
