If I get braids I usually just wash my hair and scalp with shampoo after 2 weeks. 🤷🏾‍♀️ If there are any flyaways I use some mousse to lay them flat. Witch hazel to the scalp and spray leave in to the hair as needed.

I used the hair rules leave in moisturizer (additional) on my hair when i blew it out and braided it, i left them in for 2 weeks a couple of days extra because of what u said about the hair being an anchor, i use thicker braids so i dont feel bad about taking them out and I tell u Dickey my hair was soft still and my scalp was not itchy.Your hair products are the one for me❤

Great tip! Tea tree, lavender, peppermint, sweet orange and rosemary.

This is right on time as I have twist extensions protective style in. I have to shampoo weekly as i have a sensitive scalp and i still deep condition with heat. I'm in the process of re-freshing the twists myself after a month. I avoid tension so the braids/twists are never tight. Any oil on my scalp makes it itch so i use a water-based scalp spray as prescribed by my trichologists. I use a braid spray daily to reduce friction and dryness.

My hair was braided in cornrows almost three days ago. Thank you for the video. On time.

Hi, what can I do about crown hair breakage? The hair at my crown is much shorter than the rest of my hair. Most of my hair is 4b but the middle is 4c. Also, I wear my hair in a bun most of the time because it is quick and easy.

Sir, what about if you're braids are cornrows? My own hair only. I have short hair, very coily, 4c.

The same applies. You need to shampoo in 4 weeks.

They're called protective styles, but all I'm seeing nowadays are hiding styles... anything to hide the natural hair for as long as possible 👀

I rotate my styles. I wear braided/kinky twists 12 weeks of the year, full wigs 12 weeks of winter. Afro-centric clip ins, hair pieces and half wigs and crochet 12 weeks and then my natural shrunken 4c afro for 12 weeks. This way i practice all haircare and hair styling skills and am not dependent on only one style which may be damaging. My strands are too fine for regular heat styling or daily combing and brushing.

@traumaqueeen agreed. Personally, I’m not a fan of protective styling.

If I pay $350 for boho braids, they're staying in 6 weeks😅😅

I'm say this only once. Black women and men need to learn to do their own hair so they are not being blackmailed into paying for expensive hair care and hair styles. In September, I paid 100 for a braided hair style where I was shampooed and deep conditioned with steam and took 2 hours to put the braids in. I can refresh the braids myself when they start to look frizzy. Getting my hair braided by someone else is a treat not a necessity.

@marleyhill34 There was no need for you to say it even once. I'm busy and learning how to recreate a style that took a professional braider 6 hours. Not today!

Yea I paid $300 for my boho braids too - but no lie 4 weeks was all I am going for - I’m not going bald for a style.

@@lynnjac9731 Busy is an excuse people use to avoid the things they don't want to do in my personal experience. However if that's where you are at in capacity, it's fair to expect you to stay there. Do you, boo. I don't have capacity to sit for 6 hours for a hairstyle.

@marleyhill34 The KEY word is your opinion, which no one asked for. I could care less what and how you spend your money.
