thank you yash!! - Corporate salaries vary from city to city and type of corporate. safe to say post MD DNB starting package will be anywhere between 1.1 to 1.3l on average.

@@prashu0093 in medical colleges and government institutes no doubt that MD n DNB have an upper hand. In corporates, in the short run maybe next few years maybe MEM will get consultant jobs because there are so many vacancies. But once there are enough DNB n MD consultants passing out they will be given preference in all corporate jobs also.

Thank you for doing this session. Do you have trouble working the odd hours though? Is it difficult to deal with a lifestyle where you have to ignore your circadian rhythm often?

it can be difficult- but shifts vary from institute to institute and country to country- higher up in the heirarchy you may not always have to do shift based work in most institutes ( unless they are major high volume centres) the odd hour job comes with extra monetary allowance in UK. In India, you may not get extra money- but you will get the post night shift off ( which medicine and surgery residents do not get) . you gain something and you lose something- /life is such:)

First few batches they allowed. But As of now, no! They want EM physicians to stay in EM. Medicine n anesthesia can migrate to critical care.

You need to apply NHS jobs website / go through an agent- multiple agencies are there online. UK has lot of EM training opportunities

As of now, EM isn't allowed specialist position in AFMS. But do check the latest notification regarding it .

MD EM will be added to AFMC in the coming year. They have applied - just heard from their professor in a meeting

good point. this test is several decades old. At that point EM was not popular. So i guess you need to go with your "gut feel" for now

depends on long term plan- if its is critical care- either is ok. if it is emergency medicine only- then former is better. you can always top up knowledge post MD by joining an academic EM department as SR

@@mp-fc8sc mrcem is certificate course. It's not a training degree. MEM is also not registered with a govt medical training body like NBE or NMC. So I the short run till there are enough DNB MD EM doctors all alternate pathway will have jobs, but long run preference will not be given over DNB MD
