Some of my best memories from my 3 years as a student at Fountainview Academy stem from the practical work experiences highlighted in this video. Not only did it give me opportunities to learn and grow in a hands on and practical way, but it was an extremely healthy diversion from the book learning so emphasized (I would argue, overemphasized) in today’s academic environment. As a third year mechanical engineering student, it’s staggering to me how few of my peers have practical work experience. Not only do I feel amply prepared academically for college from Fountainview, but I feel like I have a fuller and more tangible grasp of what it means to work hard and apply theoretical knowledge in a work environment.
