Hi, while telling the answer for the question "A person sold an article at Rs.1840 and profit incurred will be 12.5% more than and the loss incurred when article is sold at Rs.1500. At what price it should sell to get 20% profit." in the answer sir took "8x" but the basic concept sir told was if it is "1/8" then loss is "7/8" and profit is "9/8". but here sir took 8x as loss (where it should be 7x) and 9x as profit, why?

If you will let 7x instead of 8x then you have to increase 12.5% of 7x as given in question. the fraction value of 12.5% 1/8 that's why we took profit 9 there is no role of 7 because if you will find 12.5% of 8 you will get 1 and you will add 1 in then you will get profit 9, but if you will find the 12.5% of 7x neither you will get 1 nor 2 so that you can take profit 9. Conclusion is if you are taking profit 9 so you have to add 1 which is 12.5% of 8 but if you will find 12.5% of 7 you will not get 2 or 1 so that's it. I don't know you will understand It or not but I tried to explain as much as I know.

ANS:-2000. CP:-100p and SP:-110p 5%less, so cp becomes 95p. => 95p*6/5 = 110p+80 =>114p - 110p = 80 =>4p=80 =>100p= 100*80/4 = 2000. Thankyou very much sir.. just because of you, i'm able to cover my basics again and growing fruitfuly.🙏🙏

Very insightful session. Learnt a lot of tricks and concepts sir . A very logical and less calculative approach to the last miscellaneous question can be : Ratio between MP and SP = 41 : 50 So, MP - SP = discount = 50x - 41x = 9x Also , as given discount = profit + 8 rs Therefore we can say , profit = discount - 8 rs = 9x - 8 Now , Cp + profit = SP cp = 200 , profit = 9x -8 , Sp = 41x ( through ratio between sp and mp ) Put the values of Cp , profit and Sp . 200 + 9x -8 = 41x x = 6 Discount = 9x = 9 x 6 = 54 rs I hope this helps someone

Best of luck with your SSC preparation. I know it's your personal choice to crack SSC now, but may I ask you a question? You said you have cracked IBPS PO already and you have been working for 1.5 years in the bank, but why did you decide to go for SSC now?... What does working as a PO look like..? I heard people saying cracking SSC is better than a bank job, cause it's very stressful in a bank, and you won't have a work-life balance like that of officer posts which you can crack through the SSC exam. Is it true? If you don't mind could u share your experience or your opinion on this?

@BeYourself-uz5hx Working in bank is getting stressful day by day. Unrealistic target pressure and followup calls from RO, CO for these targets with staff shortage make it worse to work today in a psb. Work life balance doesn't exist here. But working in bank in better than unemployed because of course you are paid well. SSC jobs are less stressful in comparison to bank jobs. Also, I have seen many bankers preparing for SSC but Not any ASO or ITI or excise inspector would prepare for bank.
