@@CareerProtocol is it recommended to always include numerical metrics for the company's performance? What about for small family-owned companies?

@@anishakaul3554 Choose the metrics that make the company look best. - Market ca, turnover, number of employees. However it can be scaled as positively as possible.

Your view on Columbia Management Essentials (Online) course, is it beneficial if one is targeting CBS and other top schools in a couple of years?
@CareerProtocol2 жыл бұрын
Sure. Any program that gets you polished up on business fundamentals and hones quant skills will be helpful prep for an MBA and show commitment to the field.
@Shivam22able2 жыл бұрын
@@CareerProtocol I get your point that improving skills is what adcom/s would want to see. But apart from that does the brand value effect the application in this particular case. Imperial college offers a similar program and is very affordable at 250 USD. On the other hand CBS mba essentials and Harvard CORe are 3000 USD and upwards. What would be your take?

Can a high gmat make up for a low gpa, especially if I have done extracurriculars.
@CareerProtocol Жыл бұрын
Everything counts in the final decision, so the low GPA could ultimately be a cause for rejection in the end, but if your GPA is low, a very strong GMAT is an important step in overcoming it and make it an inconsequential weakness. The overall quality of your application will be the most important thing. If they really want you specifically in the class, they will forgive the blemish of a low GPA. Talk to us if you are interested in a partner to help you bring out your best in the application!! careerprotocol.com/mba

Is it harder to get into if I come from a Family Business Background in South America? And would 25 be a good age to start applying to CBS?
@CareerProtocol Жыл бұрын
As long as the MBA will help you and you're able to inspire the adcom in your applications (+ statistics etc.) it is of course possible :) 25 is also fine if that translates to 3-7 years of serious professional experience.

Applying for a Columbia MBA at 31 is too late? Just wondering, my age is deterring me from applying to M7 colleges.
@CareerProtocol2 жыл бұрын
Hi Siddharth. The short answer is ... probably. But not because of your raw age, because you most likely have too much experience to be able to benefit from the wisdom of your MBA classmates and/or will have a tricky time recruiting for a job pivot (assuming that is why you want an MBA) because your experience is too deep within one role or even company. Figure out what you want in your career first, then figure out if an MBA helps you get it.

Hi there i would like to find out, is it too late break into investment banking if you are early 30s after doing an MBA? if my pre mba experience is working in an accounting firm, does age matter breaking into IB? Thanks
@CareerProtocol Жыл бұрын
You will be among the older IB analysts in your class, but it happens!!! You will recruit for banking first anyway, so go for the internship and have a Plan B or C for your summer if it doesn't work out. But banks in general will take anyone who has the right hard and soft skills and gels with their team! They might prefer younger candidates, but if you have what it takes, they will take you seriously. Good luck!

Mam does high school grades are also consider during MBA selection process at top business schools like Harvard, Wharton or colombia or they just consider undergrad GPA.
