For people in Q3, it says decreases to 8% that means the interest rate in 3rd year was 8%, if it says decrease by 8% then use minus sign, also it is basically applicable for population problems not for CI.

In question 9, find out the the population for the third year and divided it by 1/4 to get the answer. (Works here because they’ve asked the difference, if you were to find out the growth based solely on the third year you would do the following: P3 + 25% of P3, so the difference will be 25% or 1/4 of P3)

@Amey Sutar bro the rate of interest is falling from 12 to 8.. But its still rate at which the money INCREASES... the money is not decreasing... Its like India batting run rate falling from 12 runs per over to 8 runs per over... Scoring rate reduces, but team runs are still increasing every over.. The runs are not reducing.. The team score is not falling from say 250 in the 40th over to 210 in 45th over.... Reduction will only happen if the sum deals with depreciation of value of a property or falling population of the town.. So negative sign will only come in these kind of sums where the overall value is reducing

Questions 1.... answer is 3400. Solution .... 25% compounded quarterly so tha For 1st quarter interest is 1,600 and for 2 compounded quarterly with 25% interest is 2,000 (6,400+1,600=8,000) so that to 10,000.(8,000+2,000) Answer is 10,000-6,400=3,600. Answer 3400 interest earned..😊😊😊😊

Replying after 2 years but hope it helps. 25 is the rate of 12 month. But we need rate of one quarter. The power 2 in formula will do calculation of 2 quarter. In this way it's done in my view.

The ansr for the 2nd question is 13669.50. how 10/12 is multiplied with R ? It's 5000*(1+R/100)^3 * (1+R/100)^10/12

13699.50 is the amount after compounded ,so the compound interest is the compounded amount minus the given amount ,answer is 8669.5. And may be the way he did is correct ,for such type of problems involving mixed fractions (3 (10/12))
