What I find contradictful is that a person has to be crafty to get through an interview to get a job. From the moment you walk in the door to the office of the interviewer you are telling them things that they want to hear. Basically massaging their ego to make them believe you are the best choice. When a manager asks me why I left my last job I always think about the truth. "Because I wanted to." There is no good answer. It's a trap question. No matter what you answer, it looks like you were the issue at that job when in truth is usually someone in a leadership role not running the company well.

Three month ago, I found your channel few hours before my interview. Surprisingly, I gained a lot of confidence during interview. Right after I leave the interview room, I knew I could get that job. Around 3 weeks after that, I got hired. Thank you so much Sir.

I never comment, but today I just wanted to say thank you, your video on calming interview stress was very helpful for me, and generally how to relate competences to the job description when answering questions. I did get my dream job, even when I didn’t have much experience and still a student. You do such a great job and thank you for helping us climb the career ladder.

Good Day fellow Project Managers. I want to share my experience with Richards material. I had been looking for a job for months I seen Richards material and peaked my interest so I sent him a note and he responded right. Provided me access to additional materials he had. I was having and interview the following day, aced it started the job two weeks ago. If you just get half of Richards materials worked into your interview skills you are sure to ace the interview. From the bottom of my heart Thank You Richard. Everyone should take advantage of your videos. I would very much recommend to anyone looking to ace their next interview. Thank you again Richard form helping to get me back on the job. You are amazing.

Richard, thank you so much for your advice. One thing that I would like you to address, however, is how to answer the question "Why were you laid off or fired? I know it is a part of the category "Why did you leave your job?" But being laid off is often not the employee's fault, and, or, some people are fired because they simply did not get along with their boss. Please complete a video on how to answer that question under those circumstances. Thank you.

Thank you so much for preparing that last script about what to say when you are let go. I realized that through all the times I was let go, I was not being honest with my employer about my autism, which impacts the way I think and communicate with others, because of how it would hurt my chances when in reality, not saying anything at all hurt me even more once I did get hired. I was putting myself on such a high pedestal that when I did not perform well, I was viewed as not caring enough when in reality it was the complete opposite and was really trying my best. Now I know that I can't hold myself to the same standards that people without a mental disability are held to. I just work differently and my strengths that come from autism can shine in roles more supportive of my given capabilities and can accommodate me without judgement. I took a huge step in being vulnerable recently by disclosing my autism diagnosis during an interview for the first time recently. I made sure to be honest about both my strengths and weaknesses and now I scored a second interview with them! I'm going to try my best in answering their questions honestly. I am still learning to accept my faults but having the interviewee be so accepting of my disclosure made a huge difference for me. Thank you for all your advice! I greatly appreciate it!

Apologies if this is already addressed. How to approach these questions 1.Examples of difficult project implementations that you have successfully led / managed / participated in (especially when you haven't worked on any project as part of your current or previous roles) 2. Recent success stories 3. Team leading experience (again if you haven't done that in your current / previous roles) 4. Instances of having to deal with difficult stake holders and how we approached the issue

Thank you for this video and all of your other videos! Always so helpful! I do have a question. What if you left a job because you weren't getting along with your coworkers? One of them just made it horrendous to come in every day so I left after 6 weeks. The job itself was perfect for me but that one person was just hostile and mean towards me. I understand every place will have someone that doesn't like you but I had to work along side this person daily. What would you say then? Or would you not mention this job at all due to the short time there?
@CareerVidz8 ай бұрын
When discussing why you left, you could say something like: "I found that the role wasn’t the right fit in terms of the team dynamics, and I believe strongly in finding a collaborative and supportive team environment. I’m really excited about the opportunity to bring my skills to [new company] where I can contribute to a positive and productive work environment."
@btsot71918 ай бұрын
@@CareerVidz I truly appreciate your response and example!! 🙏 May I also ask would you still mention short term jobs, like I left after 6 weeks? Is that relevant to mention to a new job if it's in the same specialty? like the 6 week job was in podiatry, and this new job is also in podiatry.
@behindyou83083 жыл бұрын
Lack of leadership, employees being treated like slave's, low pay, owners have no working capital, vehicle's not maintained or Registered, Owner constantly lying to customers. 3 yrs before I left. Owners have no loyalty toward employee, no health insurance, inability to pay payroll on time and not shorting someone and the lack of care towards the customer. That's why I left my job.

The reason to the question why one is leaving a job soon after joining is one that's been on my mind. Having started a new role on the 1st of June, I can tell that the fit between me and the role isn't great, for reason I raised in the interviews and was assured would not be a problem. Now after a month I feel underutilized and bored and exploring exit options.

Here's a question that most people have pondered including myself - if you know you're going to be fired, should you go ahead voluntarily terminate your position ? After all, once you've been fired you're stigmatized afterwards. Also, when applying for a job , often a pre-screening questionnaire will ask - have you ever been involuntarily terminated ? Who wants to check yes next to that box? Some companies will offer Mercy and give you the option of either resigning immediately or be summarily & involuntarily terminated. What's the best course of action? Let's hear it from the expert here. I'm not trying to put you up against the wall, these are real situations that people have found themselves in.

I used to recruit staff and would sometimes see positive responses such as these. That would help spark my interest in the applicant, however it needed to be followed up by a good CV and interview if invited. Id suggest don't go overboard on the positives. A good interviewer will spot this and then may doubt the applicant. They have probably seen many applications over time and know the score.

What if the reason for leaving your job is due to the fact that you have an accident on board the cruise ship & the 4 months of treatment that the company shoulders the expenses is not enough for you to reach total healing. Meaning you need more time for healing but the company only pays 4 months of treatment. After that it's either you'll be back to work or you better look for another company. What advice can you give to this kind of scenario? How to tell the interviewer in an honest way but not letting yourself be put to a position to doubt your state of health.

Thank you so much Richard for the useful tips on answering interview questions I find them really helpful. How can I answer this question If the reason for leaving my last job was because I had to relocate with my family a new country?
@CareerVidz Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Just be honest and explain this to the interviewer, this sounds like a good reason to leave your job and I can't see why the interviewer would have any issues with this :)
