I was back in Barbados in 1995 and remember the storm that caused the flooding. My house was a not to far from his house. So sad. I remember hearing on the radio (didn't have a tv) that he was last seen on top of his house that was being carried into the sea. I remember going in the back of my home and seeing his dishes in the sand. RIP Carew. Your memory still lives on

I was in Barbados in 1995 when this happened. I recall it being a very active hurricane season. We were there surfing. We heard the exact same story about Carew.I believe it was on the west coast.

I remember Carew as a child, I was 8 years old when he died, whenever I saw him in public I would run from my mother and jump on the back of his motorcycle and he would ride me in the parking lot. The day he died, the rain fell so bad, I can still remember. I was at trents camp and he washed out to sea by the fire station. When my mother told me he died all I could do was cry. I also remember Edwin winning party monarch that year

I was at summer camp that day, along with my big sister. The rain was falling so hard that camp ended early and on our way back home, my father went through Lower Estate and Lears, and the road was flooded. That was how bad it was.

Here in Barbados people told him to get save and he said he said not yet he gotta sing for his fans first but the next day there was a storm and his house was on the coast line he went up on his roof to fix a water heater and the house pulled away out ta sea with him on it and that's the last anyone every seen or heard from him. So sad you never know how long you have to live bet he thought he had years more to live.

I remember being on the island that year with my family when this happened! I had hoped and prayed it was some kind of silly joke to hype him up for one of his performances. Such a sad story
@whatsgood46855 жыл бұрын
Are you telling a true story, or bearing false witness to get attention? Who said that? Who spoke to him about "being saved"? Just wondering. There are so many stories trying to convince people. The Bible has plenty stories to teach on. They're all true.

Agreeing with the part not knowing how much time you may have but disagreeing with the solar heater part. No one knew Carew was at home because people were being cleared out prior and by the time they realised, he was on the roof screaming and got swept out to sea.

I always find this song to be a death prediction/ironic since he sang about snakes in the grass being dirty and slimy yet dirty and muddy waters carried him to his death.

R.I.P. Carew. Wait, was it true he was actually trying to save the solar hot water heater from his roof? The rumours I heard was during the hurricane, his house started to get washed out to sea and he went back trying to save the solar hot water heater? Has that been proven or discredited? Sad, but I would have had to let my solar hot water heater go...
@krislatoya75566 жыл бұрын
NO, NO, and NO. He had returned home after a show he had performed at and had probably passed out, can't remember which one and no one knew he was at home. Only when it was way too late that he was heard screaming and seen on top of his house while it was being carried to the sea
@NWOTheories5 жыл бұрын
I don't recall that story..instead I believe royalwestmoreland golf course was being built and some water reserve bust open causing a flood washing caru's house out to sea. He couldn't swim and crawled on top the roof..then drowned..sad but true...RIP
