All three are so iconic in their own right. Driving them back to back must have been such a surreal experience, how could anybody choose. What I will say is that this is what AMG meant to me, as an 80’s child nothing fascinated more than seeing those three letters on the rear end of a Mercedes. It is a crying shame that the brand has been so diluted, to the extent that it means almost nothing anymore. Great work Carfection!

While some of AMG isn't great, they are still an incredibly special brand. The AMG F1 team is one of, if not the absolute, best Formula One teams of all time, and continue to make the absolute fastest racecar the world has ever seen, year after year. AMG's truly insane roadcars still exist, especially with the Black Series. I was lucky enough to drive an SLS Black Series on a track and it's just as ridiculous and over-the-top as I hoped it would be. They also have the Project One coming in the next few years, which is literally an F1 engine dropped into a roadcar. It's going to be utterly brilliant.

@@victormanin2074 well, that's Bernie Ecclestone repeating the kill of the World Sportcars Championship in the early 70s (that was WAAAY more popular since the 1950s compared to the Grand Prix for open-wheels cars and the following F1) with a well-planned business move that brought sponsors (money) and speculating onto the energetic crysis which demonized the endurance racing for it's enormous need for gasoline, with the result of destroying what was the Golden Era of Racing, when there was no sponsor, pure racing at it's finest, made of drivers which raced for hours and hours pushing both them and their machines at the phisical limits. And I hope all of you will remember the decline that started for the same reasons I just said, of what was the Greatest Race in the World, the 24 Hours of Le Mans - which, luckely, nowadays is gaining more and more fans, less or more interested in Endurance, and my personal hope, as a fanatic of the 24 Hours de La Sarthe, that this new Hypercars formula will in some way bring us back to the same level of interest that took place first in the late 90s with that GT1 formula. This is my opinion, I don't want to say that F1 is rubbish, but I can assure you all that it's loosing spectators and public, when at the other side, the WEC enthusiasts are growing in number as the time passes by. Let's hope for a bright future for Endurance and Le Mans. Have y'all a nice day dear Petrolheads! ;)

This is insane, in the last 15 years it all got a little bit dull with car videos. There isn't much, that hasn't been seen. But i always hoped, that one day someone makes a video like that. I'm so glad it was you and even the coulourcombination of the cars was on point, couldn't have asked for more, i absolutely loved it. That is car journalism at its best. Commenting for the algorithm, content like this just has to be supportet.

i would really like to see the 911 or the clk on some sort of trackday to see how it compares to modern cars
@gillespriod55093 жыл бұрын
sure better than"modern" road cars remember these arent old either, they have full race pedigree, this mean very much on the track, today what current supercar have it? technology in races is always decades ahead,they maybe miss some electronic gizmos but they are real racecars,..

Carfection has grown to be my new favorite automotive channel since I got it recommended a few weeks ago. This GT1 video series was truly amazing and beautiful! That shot at 14:40 needs to be made into a high res photo!

What a BEAUTIFULLY said summation! That's exactly how I feel about all things hyper/über car these days. None of them can hold a candle to the cars of yesterday, even though they could show the taillights to some of them while still being able to go get your groceries. Thanks for taking me back in time, man I miss those days. These cars were always extremely special to me, especially the Porsche and the Mercedes, truly magnificent. I know everyone with any years on them says it.....but they really DON'T build them like they used to.

My favourite car ever since seeing a photo of it as a child. I'm 25 now and would still be awestruck to see one in real life one day. Still my favourite car

42 myself, and I've felt the same since first seeing it in a brochure many years ago. But as stated in my own separate comment, nowadays, if given the chance to own it and drive it daily (I'd be damned to let it sit, I'm driving it IDGAF), I'd let it go for a Alubeam Silver SLS Black Series.... I know they don't compare in any way, but sorry, that SLS will go down as one of, if not thee sexiest Mercedes' ever built.

This was excellent chronicle of an incredible time in racing and road homologation automobiles. This is the kind of content that we will watch years from now, and admire it as if it was released today. Great stuff, for the ages.

I had a scale model of this car back when I was a kid and until very recently I never really thought about how mind blowing it really is. Thank you Carfection. This was an astonishing series.

The conclusion was perfect! Especially loved learning more about the CLK, as a Porsche and mclaren fan I just didn’t know as much about it. Let the ‘90s GT1 cars, hopefully future ones, and all homologation specials continue as long as possible and live on forever!!!!!

I think this is the finest car video I’ve ever seen. More than a car video, the most vivid flashback to my adolescents. This trio were the hot dogs when I was a lad. To see them together and listen to Henry articulate my 1990’s pubescent feelings, which are as relevant to me now in my (very) late 30’s as they were then, is a special thing. Thankyou Henry and Carfection.
