sir in third case you have calculated the freight for cotton and jute bales as per single unit ie by total no of units but in question they are asking freight for cotton and jute for per tonnes so it might should be like these for cotton= 262.5 t x 5.20$= 1365$ and for jute 252t x 5.50$= 1386$ so ship owneris getting more money on loading jute bales plz sir correct me if i am wrong.... thanks

the only query i have is how do i distinguish between questions which ask about simultaneous loading of cargoes, the way in this question the calculation for number of bales of jute and cotton are different, how do i tell if the question asks for loading both the items in a single hold, any and all tips/suggestions are appreciated.

One thing that I wanted to highlight is that in the part 3 of the question it is given that freight for jute was $5.50 per tonne and freight for cotton was $5.20 per tonne not per bale, here you multiplied with the numbers of bales not with their weight in tonnes. Although, the answer came correct but it would have asked how much freight earned then the value got by you is wrong. 🙏🙏

Greetings ! sir , I have a query, appreciate if you could kindly educate me on this , you mentioned in the video "Cargo work numerical" by "Capt Errol fernandes" (Question 6 ) about making one of the equations similar that it should be multiplied by 600 ? Is it used as a constant in all cargo numericals ? Im curious to know why the 600 was mentioned ? Appreciate if you could elaborate more as i was confused on this part specifically ? otherwise everything else is crystal clear and beautifully explained! Thank you sir ! God bless you always !

Hi Raymond, I used the value of 600 just to make the two X values same. 600 x 0.3 = 180. You should either make the 'X' values same or 'Y' values so to cancel them out. This is because there are 2 unknown values (X and Y). We should have only one unknown value.

The 600 is used to make the values of 'x' same in both equations. If you divide 180/0.3, you will get 600.

That was the larger weight, and hence you could calculate the maximum number of slings required.
