Sure it looks good, but it's not made to be trendy, or for people to just walk around in them that live in the cities. @@OmgitsAntonio yeah I mean Kanye wore it when it was just at the apex of becoming trendy. I used to wear Arc'teryx stuff because some of my friends were snowboarders. What happened with them is exactly what happened with Carhartt. That makes sense though where I'm from is rainy and cold most of the time. So we probably get the four seasons fashion trends a bit faster. I actually follow Kanye's music and when I saw him in a car I was like what the.... But around that same time I was noticing it on Instagram too.

You bought vintage because you like how it looks, and you assume that the newer stuff is made worse. It's made the exact same way. I have the Detroit jacket from approximately 1982, from my uncle. I also have the new Detroit jacket they just released. Literally nothing quality-wise feels any different.

I had one with the flannel lining. Awesome jacket and served me well at work for years till I wore through the sleeve material and finally threw it in the trash. Later I bought a polartech lined jacket and even though it had a high warmth rating it was no where near as warm as this jacket and it was heavier. Now I’m looking for a new one with a hood so I may try the Sherpa lined jacket.

I have the grey Sherpa lined jacket with the hood and it’s very nice. The material seems a little softer, almost like a well broken in Detroit jacket. The hood is awesome and probably the best part of the jacket. Only thing I wish it had is a draw string around the waist. This is my first year wearing it so only time will tell how it holds up but it’s a carhartt.

They are very generously cut, so you may want to size down unless you plan on doing a lot of layering. Also be aware of the fact that their “loose fit” stuff is basically like a size-up.
