Hey guys! I watched many many videos over and over again and always came back to the Honda Pilot. I guess I've always been a Honda girl. I had a 1992 Honda Accord and loved it. As my family grew from 2 to 4, we went for the 2007 Honda CRV and have kept it because of its reliability and good condition after all these years (over 200,000 miles). There is wear on tear on the leather but hey, kids and almost 16 years will do that to any vehicle. We needed a vehicle that would haul our kids and their cousins and friends. So we went for the 2023 Honda Pilot Touring with added AWD and haven't regretted it one bit. We have had it since March and drove it almost 6,000 miles. I love everything but here are the things I absolutely love. The enormous interior size of the vehicle is so roomy. Adults and kids alike feel very comfortable sitting in any row; the 9" infotainment system works great. I have an android phone and it is so amazingly convenient. Our previous car did not have one so having one now is such a luxury. No need for a huge one when this one provides me with the information I need. My favorite parts of the front seats are the comfortable seats, wireless charging, everything on the steering wheel, multiple cup holders and wireless commands like text, call, weather and directions. Remember, I am coming from a 2007 Honda CRV so these features are HUGE for me. My kids are in love with the backseat and so am I. They have temperature controls and vents back there, which we did not have in CRV. Plenty of cup holders and compartments for all their toys, gizmos, etc. Love that they can each charge their iphone and tablet without having to use ours up front. The seats are wicked comfortable and huge with lots of leg room. We appreciate the ability to take the middle seat out of the 2nd row but have needed that precious space for a butt for sure. Pano moonroof gives the interior a nice airiness and lots of light. Cargo is smaller than my old CRV but it is more than enough for my family and our travels. I love the hands free and the walk away feature for the trunk. The drive itself is smooth and refined, just like you said. And I love that the steering wheel is light, considering how much driving I do. It handles beautifully. I'm glad to know that I can depend on this car to care of my family for many many years.

I bought a brand new 2023 Honda Pilot Sport three weeks ago. It is bigger and looks better than previous generations. It's gas mileage is average, performance is OKish, nothing impressive. The brake is not responsive, you have to push the brake harder to get it stopped. But, The second day, the check engine light on. Here is the message:"Emissions system problem. Power may be reduced. See dealer". I immediately drove it to the dealership Service Dept. But, that Service Advisor said I did not make an appointment and has a kind of "do not care" attitude. It took me lots of efforts and almost 5 trips, eventually, they said it a sensor issues which is in some kind of value of the gas tank areas. They put order to replace the value and sensor. But, it has been over 15 days and no ETA from the supplier! Plus, the driver side wiper blade simply flew away the first time I turned it on in the heavy rain. It took three phone calls and two appointments to get the new wiper blade installed because it need to be "ordered" also. On the left side of back window, the bottom trim is not glued well and can easily peel off and has not fixed by the Service Dept yet. Since 1996,I used two Honda Accord which were very reliable. and a Honda Odysessy van which had transmission issues after 6 years. After that, I bought new Acura MDX and drove it for over 15 years and very reliable. That is the reasons I come back to bought this 2023 Honda Pilot. But, looks like Honda's build quality dramatically degraded. If I have choice now, I will NEVER buy Honda cars again. First, the manufacturing quality is very bad from my experience with the brand new Pilot, secondly, the experience with the Service dept is very bad also. Especially with the ordering of parts, it take over 15 days , no ETA ! what's hectic ! From the Honda manufacturer to the Service, the Honda is degrading big time. I will not recommand anybody to buy the 2023 Pilot.

Good comparison... I think overall I like the Honda Pilot better... mainly because of the naturally aspirated 6cyl... but also because, since I don't need a 3-row vehicle, Honda offers a 2-row version of the Pilot... the Passport... which I would buy instead... If Toyota did the same with the Highlander I would certainly be open to it, especially if it offered a hybrid option... sadly, it does not.

As far as reliability, the Honda Pilot is probably the most reliable three row SUV that you can buy right now. The turbo four-cylinder hybrid motor that they are using with the Highlander has no real world testing. The Honda has a 3.5 L V6 that has been updated to make it even better than it was before, and they are using a modified Honda 10 speed automatic transmission that has been rock solid ever since it launched. Do your homework and look into the new Toyota tundra and Toyota Tacoma reliability issues. These all new models are one of the most unreliable vehicles on the road right now. The Honda stuck with what they know works, and it’s gonna last for at least 300,000 miles if you take care of it.

I'm not happy that the new Honda V6 only has direct injection and not port injection as well - and as you also pointed out, the inclusion of a timing belt in a new engine design is a real head scratcher. Having to pay close to $2,000 every 100,000 miles to replace the belt (and might as well replace the water pump while you're there, so increase that price) is a big deal for us since we keep our vehicles for 10-20 years.
