Also I don't think Carine and Anna are comparable. They're both very, very different. Sure Carine may seem a lot less intimidating, but she's definitely works a lot more personally in terms of style and fashion. While Anna, in my opinion is more of a businesswoman than someone who sits in front rows of fashion shows(someone not to be taken too seriously as a style icon, if that makes sense :)

Vogue Paris is elitist, so glamour. Vogue Italia is dreamer, Vogue USA is pff.

And now he's at Celine. :D Karl lagerfeld once said that he would be good to remplace him so maybe slimane will go to Chanel soon even if virginie viard is doing the job after lagerfeld passing.

I don't really think you can blame Anna for what she's "done" to vogue. I mean, look at the Americans, they're all caught up in Miley Cyrus and Megan Fox. Anna know's that the world of high fashion is way too foreign for (some)narrow minded Americans. If I showed some pictures of Sasha P, or Vlada, they'd call them Anorexic and write them off. I'm just saying you can't compare French Vogue to American Vogue. The French majority are alot more open minded towards fashion.

carine roitfeld is a beautiful woman it's not just her attitude. look at pictures of when she was a teen. she was incrediably beautiful. anna is prim and safe while carine is more rock and roll
@JimmyTheLy14 жыл бұрын
But you're missing the point. If US Vogue was anything like Paris Vogue, I'm pretty sure little to no Americans would buy it, and I think Anna is well aware of this. The magazine would go bankrupt. You can't survive on magazine sales by fashion enthusiasts alone. The magazine has to appeal to the masses. So in the case of American vogue, yes, you DO have to comprimise your vision for sales.

That's ridiculous about popularity being measured in kisses - everybody kisses everybody when they meet... Not a big fan of CR, but I do like that she keeps French Vogue strictly about fashion, not celebrities.

Or rather, let me restate my last sentence. You DO have to compromise your vision for interest in the magazine, to attract advertisers.

totally...but i think TIME magazine and others were harsh on her because she's an EIC of Vogue...and they expect her to make flawless choices...i just feel that carine is in tune with her style compared to anna...though i love them both

@L4z1n3ss Fashion is not about compromising your vision for narrow minded people. Vogue should be full on fashion no compromise, if you dont like full on high fashion dont buy it. there are open minded people in America, Vogue is supposed to be a "fashion magazine." not a celebrity magazine.

@tonyo7 But at the same time. maybe a whole lot more of people would love it. US Vogue is a joke nowadays because of Anna's "visions" TOO MUCH COMMERCIALISM. I adore Anna's support for new american designers and all, but apart from that I just can't stand what she's done to US Vogue. French Vogue is the only real fashion bible.
