This is my morning routine with my 12 month old while recovering from spinal fusion back surgery and while on treatment for metastatic breast cancer. This was 4-5 months after my back surgery. I wasn't able to watch my baby alone until I was almost 3 months post surgery.

You have a busy day! I love that kitchen floor feature! We could use that here! You have had it rough with back surgery, healing and taking care of your baby. You really handle it well. I don't know if I could have handled it so well. You are a wonderful mom! I do have a question. I am not sure but was it anastrozole that you mentioned you are on? If yes, do you have side effects? If you do have side effects, I hope you don't mind my asking, but what side effects do you have, if any? My oncologist has me on Trastuzumab also known as Herceptin as an infusion every three weeks. It's supposed to stop or slow metastasis if the cancer returns. It's fairly quick and easy and compared to chemo it's like being on a vacation! I have to get heart check ups because a side effect of it, can be heart issues. I am the odd ball in the family. They have all died, without exception, from massive heart attacks or congestive heart failure, not cancer. My oncologist now wants to put me on Anastrozole to lower my estrogen. It is the standard of care for triple positive, which is what I have. She suggested I take it for five years. I have said no to that. My husband keeps bugging me to reconsider. I really don't like or want the side effects. I want to move on from the chemicals. I focus more on diet and exercise - mainly walking but will get back into swimming this summer.

@@BubbleBurster-nv1vl hi, thanks for the nice comment! I have another video on my channel called “My Hormone Therapy Experience & Side Effects” where I explained the side effects I had with letrozole. Letrozole is a similar medication to Anastrozole. My experience with Anastrozole so far is a lot better than letrozole, but I have a lot of the same side effects to a lesser degree. Everyone is different so what works for me might not work for you. Some people say they barely notice any side effects and some people say the side effects are torture! One nice thing is that if Anastrozole causes bad side effects, there are other medications (like letrozole) you can try that might work better for you. But also, you know yourself best and what you can handle, so you don’t have to try any medication if you don’t want to 💕

@@SamanthaL I am weary of the chemicals and just want to move on from all of them. I'll most likely finish out the herceptin but I want to get back to normal again. Well as normal as I can be ;) I will look up that video. My husband is bugging me to do that too. Thank you!

You are such an amazing mama! It can be so hard when you are dealing with medical complications because our precious babies don’t understand. My son has never known me not sick, my stomach completely stopped functioning before I even met my son’s dad in my early 20s. I was 24 when we found out I was pregnant and they told us if I was going to go forward (which I wasn’t okay with any other options) with the pregnancy that my body was going to suffer. And, my medical situation did get way worse, but I wouldn’t trade my son for the world. His dad was an alcoholic and abusive when he drank, so I was usually the only one taking care of my son. I had major complications with a surgery when he was 7 months old because I was the one picking up and carrying my son. Now that he is 13yrs it’s a bit easier, but he has autism and is mainly nonverbal. He knows we don’t touch mama’s tubie (feeding tube) or my Hickman line. He’s used to me always having a backpack with nutrition or meds going. But I had another big surgery at the end of November and that was rough. I knew I’d have the midline incision because I can no longer have laparoscopic surgery, but was a bit shocked to see another huge incision on my left side with 20 staples. I don’t really have help, my son is approved for respite care, but it’s hard to find someone. He still uses a pull up at night and there were times I didn’t think I could handle it, and walking the dog was another thing. I’m on IV nutrition so that’s helped me gain some strength back and my phenergan and Benadryl help with the nausea. You are so strong and have a precious little girl. I will keep praying for all of you. Btw, I so want to live somewhere with that amazing suction spot! Between my son and the dog it’s always crumb city.

Hi Samantha, I think the phrase ,girl power, is based on you!!! Despite life's challenges you really are an amazing and natural mother. Your home looks spotless and that's having your health issues, and an active one year old to look after!!! Motherhood has definitely been in God's plans for you! I also totally respect how you keep your little one's privacy in the videos. Many You Tubers are so inclined to over share their young children. So happy that your back is improving following surgery. Keep getting stronger every day darling. Love and prayers xxxx❤❤❤❤🤗🙏💐💐💐💐

You're both incredible super hero's. I'm dreading the prospect of surgery. My mastectomy left me feeling pretty useless with my toddler. My sister had to care for her. She would always climb over me in bed at night, to get in between dad and I. She had to stay in her own bed in her bedroom with Aunty. Hearing he call mummy at night left me feeling guilty and useless. I can't imagine back surgery and looking after be or three little ones. I'm stage 3 lobular breast cancer. Hugs and best wishes for you both xx
