There are people (too many people) who don't give their children this level of care. We underrate caregiving, to be honest. This is unglamourous work, tiring and endless and the only reward - it is a big one, perhaps the only worthy reward in life - is seeing those we love flourish and thrive. Bravo to Takis for valuing these lives, and for providing such dedicated care. When people call you a hero, it is not hyperbole.

Wie hat dieses Mädchen ausgesehen, als Takis sie damals gefunden und gerettet hat !!!! Der arme Schatz bestand nur aus Haut und Knochen und Takis hat sie wieder behutsam und konsequent ins Leben geliebt ❤ In ein glückliches Hundeleben, das sie wahrscheinlich vorher nie hatte. Ihr "Schlafzimmer" ist direkt neben Takis Schlafzimmer und er wacht sozusagen als Dauerzustand liebevoll über ihr und läßt sie nicht aus den Augen ❤💛💜

I remember when Nala was first brought to the Shelter. She was skin and bones and days and more days passed and she remained painfully skinny while Takis worked to bring her back to health and balance. I came to the point where I thought, this is never going to work, it would be kinder to let her cross over. And then, finally she started to finally turn around and look at her now. That taught me never to doubt the wisdom of Takis. He is so connected to his rescues, he has super powers!

I love watching Takis because it reminds me of my years working at a shelter. We also had a diabetic dog and that was the first thing we did in the morning and the last thing every evening. She would be fed and while she was eating we gave the insulin shot. She never acted like she ever felt it...the needles were so tiny. We checked her glucose level about once a week to see if her doses needed to be adjusted. She was already old when diagnosed but lived that way about four more years. Sweet girl!
