There are more things like trust, wellbeing, respect, comfort / coziness, sharing thoughts, inner values, communication and so much more. I really don't get how so many people reduce them only on their skinship and stuff like that. Well, I don't want to judge. I can't be sure if they are a couple or not, since I don't know them personally and I don't know the truth. But seeing them together - regardless of the nature of their relationship - makes me feel better. :) So.. I agree with you in the point that they still care for each other. :) But if people overreact or not, I can't say for sure.
