Carl Anderson's rendition of this French song is too marvelous for words. I've been so lucky to attend a masterclass with this great person and artist in September 2002, near Milan (Italy). The things he said resonated with my soul ❤

I met Carl for the first time in a jazz club in Naples, Italy. When he asked, somebody told him that the music that was being played on a cd player was my music. So he walked to me and said: "I want to work with you. Can you write an arrangement for big band of Ne me quitte pas?" I was thrilled. Couldn't believe that. He was my idol since I watched JCS at age 7. I kept working with him for few years. Never heard again such inner power of communication in a voice at a distance of few inches. I miss you big brother. This video is the very first time my arrangement was performed. Thank you for sharing this!

It's a lot of good singers who are living and who have passed away but it's singers who have unique voices and Carl Anderson is one of those such voices you are greatly missed and thank you for you're wonderful songs.RIP

One of the greatest singers of our time. Been a fan since seeing JCS for the first time on television back in '75 when I was 9 years old. Also remember one of his concerts that was broadcasted in the early '80's on the Los Angeles PBS KCET station that I recorded on VHS. Don't have the tape anymore but I wonder if somebody out there has it. I remember one of the songs he did was the Gino Vannelli song "Appaloosa."
