This is a valuable recording of a Japanese artist who recently died. The deceased told an episode in which Czerny dedicated this work to LIszt. The clear, accurate and warm sound is very attractive. , she said in her lifetime..........

Thanks for sharing these great works. I love every prelude and fugue by Czerny I've heard so far. This fugue reminds one of Antoine Reicha's "O Peuple Saint." (Reicha: another underappreciated master of fugue.)

Prelude seems written by Schumann as addendum for Kreisleriana or Symphonic Studies. Fugue seems written by Reger. But is Czerny decades before. Wonderful

This work is played by the late Japanese pianist Ikuyo Kamiya. She studied piano under Aiko Iguchi, Klaus Hellwig and Stefan Askenase. After she studied at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, she won the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium and began her performance activities. Later, at the request of a music friend, she played Czerny's (composed of 48 preludes and fugues) and made it into two CDs. This work is a treasured work of Czerny, who is famous for a huge number of etudes. And now it's her precious legacy. She says Czerny is a for many piano-learning students, but she, on the other hand, reveals the high artistry of Czerny's music through her above-mentioned works in her own age.........

Czerny's works are honestly very unique from other composers, that's why Chopin and Liszt fans are arguing. You're not really right, but you're not wrong either. (this is not a hate comment don't hit me with a grand piano)
