On this week's download, Dale Earnhardt Jr discusses drivers getting booed after recent moments like Bubba Wallace getting booed at North Wilkesboro during driver intros and Denny Hamlin had the same thing happen at the NASCAR 75 event. Dale tells a funny story about 'booing' involving Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch at Darlington.

Good call Big Hand. BTW that name, is it in reference to the Ancient Indian Big Hand, lithograph cliff face near New Ark Ohio ? Don't look for any photos , the railroad blew it up to run tracks along the River. All those mentioned drivers, have had growing up problems and tarnished NASCAR in one way or another. KYLE BUSH, now garners more respect than many of these children in racing. I hope he gets it together, with all that talent.

Went to the 600 last year. I was in the infield for driver intros. I legitimately can not tell what physically reverberated through my body more, the cars flying into Turn 1 as I was in one of the first front rows or the amount of hatred for Bubba. Headlines aren't talking about Larson dominating the race, headlines are talking about the radio chatter. It's fucking pathetic and embarrasing. I want to be proud of this sport, but I can't be proud because of these kind of assholes. It's absolutely fucking pathetic, embarrasing, and absofuckinglutely asinine that these fucking degenerate wastes of society think that the racing product is the one and absolutely only possible why people don't want to watch NASCAR.

I think Kyle Busch really started making an effort to show a better side of himself about half way through last season, there's no doubt he tried to be more open and less obnoxious during press conferences, and even showed some restraint after tough results on the track. Whether that was in hopes of securing a new ride or sponsors, I don't know, I don't even care about his motives. He's always been a great driver, now I can actually enjoy that instead of rooting against him just because of the way he acts.

it's true. Was anti Jeff Gordon from being a loyal Dale Sr. fan. Just couldn't stand to see him doing well. But later on I began to respect and appreciate how much he helped our beloved sport. Same for JJ. Man, 5 championships and winning all the time was too much to take at the time. But after the fact and seeing him in Indy I gained so much perspective and respect and truly wished for him to do well in Indy cars. Seeing Harvick punch JJ in the chest after a race and how JJ handled himself I gained huge respect for the man he is. Huge respect for both Gordon and Johnson now. But in the moment, Dale Sr. is, was, and always will be the man and could not stand Gordon as competition. Growing older helps put things in perspective also. Bubba fighting Larson after that wreck is where a lot of the booing comes from. Let's just enjoy some great racing and the fact that LAR SON put an old school whooping on all them boys Sunday. Can't wait for Charlotte. Heck, I was even anti Dale Jr. for a while after he chose Hendrick(the enemy in my mind at the time lol) over staying with DEI or going to RCR. But as time goes by you appreciate how talented all these drivers are. Wish Carl Edwards would have stayed but still appreciate the great shows he put on. Loved seeing Concrete Carl beat JJ coming out of that final run at I believe Atlanta. Now, come on Rowdy(#8) and LAR SON(#5) this weekend for some great racing and wins!!!

As I understand, Theresa didn't offer Jr. a further contract with DEI, and RCR couldn't come close to what Hendrick was offering. Plus, I heard at the time that Rick Hendrick and Dale Jr had a close relationship, especially after his dad passed. Looked at in that light, I think the move was logical. Besides, RCR was in a decline at the time(a decline that they have been slowly pulling out of, thankfully), and Hendrick offered a first class operation with first class equipment and people. Yeah, as a Dale Sr fan, I would have loved to have seen him go to RCR, but in the end I think he made the right choice. Dale Earnhardt: Always THE MAN, always a fan!

The remarks he gets isn’t just boos, they are comments like “go back where you come from” or “you don’t belong in NASCAR”. They are bigots. I have never really been a Kyle Busch fan. I liked his brother, and never saw him come across as the brash racer that Kyle became. I think it stems back to when at Hendrick, he performed good, but totally ripped his team and the car in front of everyone. Going to Toyota and Joe Gibbs was a relief to Hendrick fans. He's a hard hard racer and I think most people believe that was a solely Dale Sr. kind of thing, and they didn't want to see Kyle perceived as an Intimidator in NASCAR. Hell I thought that, being a huge Dale Earnhardt Sr & Jr fan. BUT, upon going to the Night Race at Bristol, the first after the Covid shutdown, I watched Kyle go from last place and work his way through the field in the Skittles car. Sitting on the front stretch and just watching this mastery of passing high and low, and to forget he make it to 2nd place just at the end of the stage, just made me gain so much more respect for Kyle. I look back and see, he's been doing this for a while. When he wasn't given a contract extension at Jog Gibbs, and they held out for another, I couldn't wait to see him in a Richard Childress car.

I was a bubba fan and still would except for two factors. 1. Once it was discovered to be a garage pull down rope he doubled down on it. If he had said “hey I deal with this from time to time but this wasn’t one of those times” I would have respected him MORE than before. 2. This one is not his fault: nascar broadcasts consistently promote him with drivers that have accomplished way more than him, not his fault but it makes my eyes roll every time. It does a disservice to bubba AND nascar.

The second point for me is, and the main reason I totally stopped watching NASCAR all together ( I did watch part of North Wilkesboro, b/c of the track and it being Harvicks last season) when NASCAR and the rest of the drivers chose to not only ignore the findings and act as if the whole thing was real but had the nerve to lecture fans for something they did not do.

There's a way to solve the issue of fans transmitting on the driver's channels. It's called a DCS. Digitally coded squelch. The transmitter emits a sub audible tone that you can't hear. The receiver only opens the squelch if it receives that tone. You could have 100 fans transmitting at the same time and the driver would NEVER HEAR THEM. There are hundreds of different tones that can be programmed. To figure out what tone their using would be nearly impossible. It's what law enforcement and first responders use to keep people off their radios. But the good fans with scanners can still listen to their favorite driver.

I can't stand Bubba but it's cause of his personality, not because of his skin color. With that being said, guys like him are needed in nascar and eventually end up being really good drivers. Felt the same way about Rowdy for a long time now im his fan

Bubbas IQ shows his professional attitude toward fans and shouldn't be tolerated by Nascar. He could have learned from Richard Petty, but he must have not paid attention to instructions.

I have something to share with Dale Jr in content with the booing and I hope he sees this. I was a Ford guy and still am all my life and I’m 64 but hadn’t been to a cup race in the early 90’s since I was like 10 at the Nashville Faregrounds. I got to go to Atlanta in like 91 and as they introduced all the drivers all my Ford boys I smiled and acknowledged them. Then the announcer said”and now the driver of the number 3 Chevrolet Dale Earnhardt and I was overwhelmed and couldn’t believe I was in the same building he was,and still get goosebumps and emotional when I tell it. Always was happy to see him get put out before then, wasn’t a huge fan after that but how I felt had changed forever. Oh and ps started collecting 1/24 die cast and you with ur raced version Chevrolets filled my display case😅

Everything Bubba puts up with is well deserved. He was liked in the beginning till he opened his mouth

That's exactly right! It's what I have been saying fir a few years now. I liked him when he first started racing. He soured quickly, acting like some sort of victim.

Bubba has been demanding special treatment since he came into the cup scene.. and after the stupid noose BS that he raised hell about he deserves all the boos he gets. Hey a totally classless individual

I think people dislike Denny because of him wrecking chase at martinsville and that whole feud. Chase fans are as passionate as jr nation and that was their version of Kyle Busch wrecking you at Richmond.

Bubba or nobody else should have to put up with these hecklers. Why aren't there track officials there to escort these hecklers away. Other sports do. Andy Frain works in Chicago at Cubs, Socks, Hawks and Bulls games.

Obviously some fans are too aggressive, but Bubba has really brought this on himself. He acts like a punk all the time on and off the track, it's no surprise that people would shout boos and whatnot at him.
