After watching the latest interviews and face off between Froch and Groves on Skysports, I can say that Groves is dominating the psychological battle between the two easily and Froch is clearly affected by it. This sort of thing really helps Groves in the run up and in the actual ring on fight night, as half of the battle is in the mind. If Groves dominates the first six rounds with hit and move tactics Froch can lose this, and if Froch gets through early then the fights over.

Why does Froch brush over the fact that Mikkel Kessler beat him in their first fight? If you even the score and win in a rematch, it doesn't then wipe that loss off your record?? I like Froch, but he's wrong to dismiss his first loss to Kessler, who deserves the respect for that win.
@WarrenKirkpatrick
@WarrenKirkpatrick 8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Davies well actually he didn't avenge his loss because he would have had to win again to actually avenge his loss, at his rate, he just equalled it out by a win each, but that's besides the point that he couldn't beat him first time but that's typical froch for you, can't see his own mistakes.

If Groves can take the punches then its his fight all day. Froch got one way of fighting. I really respect him. But the blueprint is there from Ward. And Groves has the ability to replicate what Ward did. Not only that, Groves jab has become superb and improved with every fight, as has his power. I think if Groves doesn't take Froch's punches then its a Froch KO, if he can, then A Groves win on points.

Torn in 2 here Froch is from my area and were always behind him 100% but I've always had respect for Groves since he declined the chance to go to the Olympics to turn pro and IMO he has justified that decision. I think I'd like it to go all the way with a Froch win but with Groves proving that he is no walkover. Hopefully this fight will elevate the status of Groves and open some doors for him, and also show the world we have some talent. Going to be a better fight than poser Haye and joker Fury

Basing your prediction on prior opponents is not the right reason to believe that Froch will beat Groves. The best opponent Froch had beaten prior to beating Pascal and winning the WBC world title was Brian Magee. Groves is technically better than Froch, has quicker hands, feet and better footwork but he has a weak chin and Froch has a granite chin. That could be the deciding factor later on in the fight when Froch can catch up with him as he has great stamina and an unbelievable will to win.

Froch was blessed with the S6 but this doesn't hide the fact that Froch has a better resume than Joe and this is widely accepted by the boxing community. It's fact, just compare their careers. As for Groves... He doesn't deserve a title shot. The only reason why Froch took the big payday box office fight was because apart from Ward hiding in the US, Froch has fought EVERYONE and the fans seem to want this fight. Groves is mandatory so Froch has no choice. Not that hard to understand

Feel free to, I can see that I'm talking to someone that scores fights on aggression (ineffective aggression in this case) and work rate, those are the only areas in which Calzaghe bested Hopkins, everything else (clean, effective punches, defense, ring generalship) belonged to Hopkins. I didn't say Froch was better, I said his resume is, win or loss, he's fought the far better opposition, that can't be denied. Anyway, goodbye, good luck with your peculiar scoring style!

Your comment is one that most Froch haters bring up, but lets look at it less bias. Taylor boxed his ears off? Froch dominated Taylor the second half of that fight, hurt him several times and ko'd him! Dirrel ran and ducked all night, you could give it a round or 2 either way, but he certainly did not deserve to take the title. As for Ward schooling him, that's a myth, a schooling is Calzaghe vs Lacy, Froch had Ward running and holding the last 3 rounds and won at least 4 rounds clearly.

Froch needs to be taken down a few pegs. You'd think he'd humble down a bit after Ward took him to school and back. Nope, still thinks he's the shit. Taylor, Dirrell and Ward boxed his ears off. Got a 12th round stoppage against one when he was down on the cards, got a gift decision against the other and a schooling from the real king of 168. Groves's a live dog in this fight.

How do you see that, my favourite fighters in history are Arguello and Rigondeaux right now. It was a close fight and you say he schooled him? Do you know what the word schooling means? Groves is the master of being arrogant and then acting like a little boy when he gets pulled on it. Froch will knock him out.

Would love Groves to win it, Froch has turned arrogant, he can't even admit Kessler beat him, and has resorted to telling Groves his breath smells and to come and fight him in previous interviews (the same as Degale done) is he getting desparate because he knows Groves will outbox him, and Frochs best chance is to hit him with one big shot, Froch KO or Groves by a wide points margin for me

Yeah, got to be rolling with Froch, regardless of what the bookies or anybody else says. Groves gives the impression he's got no real plan or belief and I don't see his style trumping Froch on the night. Just a bad match-up for Groves who I like as a heavy-handed slick-ish Brit. Simply put, this will be a give and take domestic dust-up with a baying crowd, Groves can surely give it but when Froch takes his best shots and is there in the later rounds, fully focused, it'll be curtains.

I've hammered this post today but the last thing I have to say is, Carls got a family and future to think of, I still believe hes good for another year or so. he's taking the correct preparation to keep his legs alive for his age, so why not?. If carl does decide to move on in life, I hope he does it with more grace. Not against George Groves. COME ON FROCH!!!!

Kind of a contracting comment, IF Groves does beat Froch then fair play to him, as for myself I cannot see Froch losing. But if Groves wins then he's a lot better than most people thought.
