Im a schizophrenic. I do doordash for extra money. One order at night, i arrived and walked to the door, placed his food down and took a picture. I got in my car and drove away. 30 minutes later he called and asked where his food was, i totally remember taking the picture at his doorstep. So he took it up with Doordash. An order later, i opened my back door and.. saw his order. I was so confused why it was there. I remembered everything about going there and taking the picture. He said I was never on his cameras.. Appearantly i hallucinated the whole delivery. I was there, but must of never left the car or even drove up.. What was i doing then?? Staring blankly at the windshield? With glazed over eyes?? I called him and apologized but he already got his refund. I felt so terrible. Im on medication and nothing works. It just goes to show how easily some misfirings in the brain can completely alter your sense of reality.

I don't remember him mentioning it, but now I understand how the cross can also be envisioned as the most simplified version of the mandala. Lacking detail, it becomes a universal mandala for unity of Being itself. A truly Divine symbol. No wonder it was used as a religious symbol throughout time.

Jung actually cautioned AGAINST using dreams as a first method for bringing the unconscious to consciousness. From CW8 on the Transcendent function: First and foremost, we need the unconscious material. The most readily accessible expression of unconscious processes is undoubtedly dreams…. In general, dreams are unsuitable or difficult to make use of in developing the transcendent function, because they make too great demands on the subject” “We must therefore look to other sources for the unconscious material… unconscious interferences in the wake state, ideas ‘out of the blue,’ slips, deceptions, lapses of memory, symptomatic actions, and spontaneous fantasies…” He then goes on to outline the method for Active imagination and utilizing creative methods such as writing, drawing, painting, dancing, playing, etc to tap into and bringing forward that which lies dormant.

This is a really good insight thank you Have this 🌳 **Rootedness in the Unconscious** - *Insight*: Just as a plant cut off from its roots withers, we too lose vitality when severed from our unconscious. The unconscious is the foundation of our psyche, grounding us in a deeper, collective wisdom that sustains our essence. - *Meaning*: Embrace inner exploration to reconnect with the unconscious and bring hidden parts of yourself to light. 🔦 **Illumination of the Shadow** - *Insight*: The shadow comprises rejected or repressed aspects of ourselves. By illuminating our shadow, we retrieve lost parts of our psyche, leading to self-integration and authentic strength. - *Meaning*: Accepting our flaws and hidden desires prevents them from subconsciously sabotaging us, turning weaknesses into sources of wisdom. 💡 **Bringing the Unconscious to Consciousness** - *Insight*: The unconscious is a vast sea of latent potentials. Jung believed that to become whole, we must make the unconscious conscious-bringing hidden drives, forgotten memories, and archetypes into awareness to evolve our personality. - *Meaning*: True growth lies in self-discovery, which requires courage to explore and integrate all layers of our psyche. 🌀 **Archetypes as Universal Patterns** - *Insight*: Archetypes-universal patterns in the collective unconscious-shape our lives. They are like psychic blueprints, guiding us in love, conflict, heroism, and transformation, often without our awareness. - *Meaning*: Recognize archetypal influences in your life as hidden guides offering direction, strength, and purpose in facing life’s challenges. 🪞 **The Dynamic Interplay of Consciousness and Unconsciousness** - *Insight*: Consciousness is not isolated but exists within the vast unconscious, like a spotlight on a dark stage. This interplay creates our sense of self, influencing what we perceive, ignore, or transform. - *Meaning*: By choosing where to focus our awareness, we shape our reality and grow closer to understanding ourselves. 🌍 **Collective Unconscious: The Shared Inner World** - *Insight*: The collective unconscious holds memories and patterns shared by all humanity. It unites us through archetypes that transcend individual experiences, tapping into the shared history and wisdom of our species. - *Meaning*: Understand that much of our inner experience is shared, connecting us to the deeper currents of human history and collective experience. 🌞 **Emergence of Consciousness as Evolution** - *Insight*: Consciousness is the "flower" of the psyche, an evolving phenomenon born from the unconscious, granting us the power to think, plan, and reflect. It has brought humanity into a transformative journey of self-awareness. - *Meaning*: With consciousness comes freedom, but also suffering. Growth is found by understanding this paradox and embracing our awareness as a gift. 🧩 **Dreams as Windows to the Unconscious** - *Insight*: Dreams are symbols sent from the unconscious, rich in archetypal meanings. They offer guidance, reveal hidden conflicts, and provide answers to unresolved aspects of our psyche. - *Meaning*: Recording and interpreting dreams can offer invaluable insight into unresolved issues and hidden potentials in our lives. But it's better to get it from early waiing stage, to hunches, lapse of memory, slips, etc. 🎨 **Symbols as Guides to Inner Transformation** - *Insight*: Symbols are messengers from the unconscious, surfacing as images, feelings, or motifs. They express the language of the psyche, guiding us toward self-integration and psychological wholeness. - *Meaning*: Engaging with symbols-through art, nature, or spiritual practices-can unlock profound inner shifts and personal evolution. 📖 **The Role of Myth and Story in Shaping Identity** - *Insight*: Myths and archetypal stories hold timeless wisdom, encapsulating universal human experiences. They resonate with the unconscious, allowing us to confront our fears, desires, and potential. - *Meaning*: Explore myths and stories as mirrors of your inner world. They provide paths toward healing, transformation, and connection with the sacred. 🌊 **Suffering as the Price of Consciousness** - *Insight*: With consciousness comes the capacity for self-reflection, but also inner conflict, regret, and existential doubt. Consciousness liberates us, but it also demands that we face inner darkness. - *Meaning*: Embrace suffering as a necessary counterpart to awareness, enabling growth, insight, and the power to overcome inner limitations. 🌌 **Transformation through Confronting the Collective Shadow** - *Insight*: Societies that suppress or ignore their collective shadow risk disaster, as repressed energies manifest destructively. Only by confronting and integrating shadow elements can a culture heal and thrive. - *Meaning*: Engage with society’s shadow aspects-violence, prejudice, fear-with compassion and understanding, seeking constructive ways to bring light to these dark elements.

I need to understand more as to why people would think that animals don't feel anxiety about future events. Pavlov started out electric shocks on sheep, but stopped when they were having heart attacks when they heard the bell. They clearly had anxiety about a future event. If you've ever owned a dog you know that they are concious perhaps not as developed as us but obviously concious. And then there are Orcas, that have been known to collectively plan an attack on a seal.

There is a correlation between symbols, sound frequency, and healing. Cymatics provides us with proof that specific symbolic patterns form with changing sound frequency, similar to the mandala patterns. Music has been proven to help heal the mind, body, and soul. It's remarkable that music in specific frequency can cause neuroplasticity or literally cure the body of cancer or mental illness/trauma.

Dr. McGilchrist's work is interesting!! It's exactly what women have tried to show men for thousands of years: using your "feminine" right hemisphere (alongside your "masculine" left) to think with, IS individuation. :) Men have long repressed, rejected, and resisted the feminine. But I think they're finally waking up that emotion /intuition is as powerful and necessary to healthy humanhood and rationality as our intellectual ways of knowing and being. Cheers!

Here's a ChatGPT summary: - Carl Jung dedicated his life to understanding the secret of personality and emphasized the importance of psychological knowledge in understanding human existence. - Jung divided the psyche into conscious and unconscious elements, with the unconscious being a vast realm that influences the conscious mind. - The unconscious is divided into the personal unconscious, which contains forgotten or repressed personal experiences, and the collective unconscious, which contains universal, inherited patterns called archetypes. - Archetypes are innate patterns that influence our mental interactions and responses to life's challenges, similar to how instincts guide physical responses. - Consciousness emerged from the unconscious and transformed humans from instinct-driven beings to ones capable of doubt, reflection, and adaptation. - Consciousness allows humans to adapt to new situations, plan, and reflect, but also brings suffering and inner tension. - Jung believed that to achieve psychological health, individuals must integrate unconscious elements into conscious awareness, particularly by confronting the shadow side of their personality. - The shadow consists of repressed weaknesses and character flaws, and acknowledging it can lead to personal growth and a more complete personality. - Confronting the personal unconscious is necessary to access the deeper collective unconscious, which contains archetypes that can guide us through life's challenges. - Modern society's disconnection from the collective unconscious, due to technology and social pressures, impedes the spontaneous activation of archetypes. - Strengthening the symbol-producing function of the psyche, through dreams, religious practices, and engagement with symbolic literature, can help connect to the collective unconscious. - Engaging with the collective unconscious can lead to personal transformation and alignment with the wisdom of our species' history. - Failure to connect with the unconscious can result in destructive expressions of archetypes, leading to societal issues like war and mass psychogenic illnesses. - Main message: To achieve psychological wholeness and prevent societal destruction, individuals must strive to make the unconscious conscious by integrating personal and collective unconscious elements into their awareness.

• Carl Jung’s exploration of the psyche and the archetypes is a profound journey into understanding the depths of human consciousness. His assertion that “everything in the unconscious seeks outward manifestation” resonates deeply with the idea that our inner world shapes our external reality. Jung’s division of the psyche into the conscious and unconscious realms, and further into the personal and collective unconscious, provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the complexities of human behavior and experience. The concept of archetypes as universal, inherited patterns that shape our psychic experiences is particularly fascinating. These archetypes, as Jung describes, are the “river-beds along which the current of psychic life has always flowed.” They are the foundational structures of our unconscious mind, influencing our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in ways we often do not realize. This idea that we are born with a set of archetypes, much like we are born with bodily organs, underscores the intrinsic nature of these patterns in our psychological makeup. Jung’s belief that consciousness emerged from the unconscious is a testament to the evolutionary journey of the human psyche. This emergence of consciousness, while bringing about the ability to reflect, doubt, and question, also introduces the burden of suffering. As Jung aptly puts it, “the development of consciousness is the burden, the suffering, and the blessing of mankind.” This duality of consciousness - its power to adapt and innovate, alongside its capacity to cause inner turmoil - is a central theme in Jung’s work. Moreover, Jung’s insights into the fluid boundary between consciousness and the unconscious highlight the dynamic nature of the psyche. The analogy of the spotlight on a dark stage vividly illustrates how our awareness can shift, bringing different aspects of our psyche into focus while others recede into the background. This fluidity is crucial for personal growth and self-awareness, as it allows us to integrate previously unconscious elements into our conscious understanding. In today’s world, where there is a “total disorientation in regard to the ends of human existence,” Jung’s call for a vast amount of psychological knowledge is more relevant than ever. Understanding the interplay between our conscious and unconscious minds, and the role of archetypes in shaping our experiences, can provide valuable insights into our behavior and motivations. It can help us navigate the complexities of modern life with greater self-awareness and psychological resilience. In conclusion, Jung’s exploration of the unconscious and the archetypes offers a rich tapestry of insights into the human psyche. His work encourages us to delve deeper into our inner world, to make the unconscious conscious, and to embrace the full spectrum of our psychological existence. This journey, while challenging, holds the promise of greater self-understanding and personal growth. • Carl Jung’s exploration of the unconscious and the archetypes is a profound journey into understanding the depths of the human psyche. His assertion that our personality is shaped by how we engage with the unconscious is both enlightening and challenging. The idea that we must change our relationship with the unconscious to achieve psychological wholeness resonates deeply with me. Jung’s concept of the shadow, the repressed aspects of our personality, is particularly compelling. It is a stark reminder that self-awareness and self-criticism are essential for personal growth. By confronting our shadow, we not only temper its negative effects but also reclaim parts of ourselves that we might have unjustly deemed as weaknesses. This process of integration is crucial for developing a more complete and authentic self. The notion that the personal unconscious must be dealt with before accessing the collective unconscious is a logical progression in Jung’s framework. It underscores the importance of self-reflection and personal healing as prerequisites for tapping into the deeper wisdom of our species. The collective unconscious, with its archetypes, offers a rich tapestry of symbols and patterns that can guide us through life’s challenges. These archetypes, whether they manifest as the mother, father, hero, or the Self, provide a roadmap for navigating the complexities of human existence. However, Jung’s critique of modern man’s disconnection from the collective unconscious is a sobering observation. Our obsession with technology, self-image, and social validation has indeed narrowed our attentional field, making it difficult to connect with the deeper layers of our psyche. This disconnection not only stifles personal growth but also has broader societal implications. When we ignore the wisdom of the archetypes, we risk falling into destructive patterns that can lead to social and psychological turmoil. Jung’s emphasis on the importance of symbols and dreams as gateways to the unconscious is a valuable insight. Dreams, in particular, offer a unique window into the unconscious, providing us with symbols that can illuminate our path to self-understanding. By paying attention to our dreams and engaging in practices that foster a connection to the unconscious, such as meditation and art, we can begin to bridge the gap between our conscious and unconscious minds. In conclusion, Jung’s work on the unconscious and archetypes is a testament to the complexity and depth of the human psyche. It challenges us to look beyond the surface of our consciousness and explore the hidden realms within. By doing so, we can achieve a greater sense of wholeness and live more authentically. The journey to making the unconscious conscious is not an easy one, but it is undoubtedly a path worth taking for those seeking true psychological health and fulfillment.

This needs to be taught in school. The number of problems that would be solved by creating nieches for the left over folk. I was a warrior, trying as hard as I can to be a wizard.

Collective unconscious is reflected in humanity's customs, culture, and above all, their history, which preserve the archtypal traits of a people

My only problem with modern philosophy is the lack of acknowledgement of the possibility that every aspect of human existence on this planet can be influenced by a technologically more advanced alien presence, yet undetectable to us.
@robertvandenberg2883Ай бұрын
The unconscious is actually a conscious state that is not in your present awareness. That's why philosopher Bernardo Kastrup calls Jung's conscious "meta conscious", and Jung's unconscious "conscious".

I haven't seen recommendations of your last 4 videos on my timeline for some reasons. Just checked and they are all significantly less viewed as previous videos. What is going on?

My guess is humanity’s general cutting off from the notion of the gods / archetypes. We have no use for them, so our culture will wither or decay.

8:14 No it's not, also having dominating instincts doesn't necessitate "surety" - or even a lack of consciousness/mind. Merely a different type of mind/processing..... also, as a programmer, there's just no relevant archetype for me, they're all vague and unhelpful for this level of details oriented, long term, technical task. There's no archetypes to adopt that aren't vague.
@samuelpoulston29644 ай бұрын
So do you think then the archetypes are generally useless? I can sometimes think in conceptual ways, which differs far from those who think in detail and I have been able to challenge people with much higher IQs by seeing flaws in their ideas as a result
