In this colorized and remastered interview, conducted by John Freeman for the BBC program “Face to Face”, Carl Gustav Jung talks about his life, studies, and his work with Freud. He also shares his thoughts on death, religion, and where humanity is headed. When asked if he believes in God, Jung hesitates before saying, "It's hard to say... I'm certain. I don't need to believe." #philosophy #psychology
This video has been colorized and the audio remastered by myself. Thus this work is classified as a derivative work and requires licensing. The source footage is in the public domain.

He was 84-85 here and passed away 2 years later. He was still pretty sharp-minded at his advanced age.

The improved audio is life changing. I previously haven’t been able to listen to this interview intently because of the quality of the recording. If not for your work I wouldn’t yet have the opportunity to connect with Jung so much more deeply as I feel now. I’ve been in Jungian Analysis for 5 years! The work you did is extremely meaningful to me 🤍

Hi Bee, your kind words are due to the channel in the below-linked video. The channel and video you're commenting here took the work from below, claimed it as its own work, and uploaded, stripped of additional stories about Jung. If you are a fan of Jung's depths of thought, and the work you compliment so pleasantly, was truly meaningful to you, please see the original , which also has more of Jung's own thoughts about the interview: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmiZi4edgZiphsU

Wow!!!! I went through almost 6 months of intensive outpatient DBT therapy, and have been working on things for close to a decade now between between earning a psychology degree, and also recovering at the same time. I too, am an INFJ-T, and to hear Carl Jung share the exact same feelings regarding anger is really a relief! You question yourself in life if you were the problem, especially within your heavily narcissistic family unit - furious anger is often an unfortunate side effect from having a bully of a sibling, and it's probably innate to begin with! Good to know, straight from the horse's mouth, I am abnormally normal, and my feelings are as well! Love Jung's work, and especially his answer regarding God; all you have to do, is start seeing synchronicities happen in your life, the law of attraction, and you start to really get it!

Thankfully he directly clarified what he meant in a letter after the interview because so many were puzzled about what he meant. He essentially said he encountered something in himself that he knows not what it is, but is a part of the great mystery that many cultures call different names.

@@yoepv8800 He doesn’t "believe" anything or IN anything. He does not like the word itself as he says later. He either has “sufficient reasons to accept a certain hypnotises” or he does not. So when he says “I know”, I think its pretty obvious what he means. (I know some argue that he has a little smile/wink as he answers but I love the spirit of his reply)
