The best way I have seen to optimize the miners is to max out your belts (160 for T1, 320 for T2) and scale your smelting off of that. 4 drone miners will max out a T1 belt. Remember that as you mine the efficiency goes down as the drones have to travel farther to get ore going from 64/min down to 40/min as you approach node depletion! Plan accordingly! Also, uniformally mining all sides of a node is better than having to shift things around later.

First there was Factorio and I thought it would be great in 3D. Then there was Satisfactory for ages. Now there is Foundry and I am confused, because Foundry feels like the first try to make Factorio 3D and Satisfactory feels like "we have learned a lot from Foundry and made everything better" ... feels wrong.

One thing I like about this game is you can set the audio to 5.1 and they use ALL six speakers. With a subwoofer, I can FEEL the tree falling down. And I have to stay away from the steam turbines entirely unless I want to wake up the neighbors... 🤣

Everything about this game gives me the feeling of Satisfactory. I know its a different game, with massively different systems, but so much of the art and style Screams Satisfactory.

There's like 20 at least that have gained some level of popularity. By your definition, Satisfactory stole everything from Factorio, and Factorio stole everything from the games that were before it. Fortresscraft is pretty old compared to all of these games.

@@T33K3SS3LCH3N I think satisfactory benefits from not being tied to a voxel grid, however if it did have terraforming in the same style as how Empyrion or 7 Days to Die did it, it would be the perfect factory game for me. I had high hopes for Techtonica, but being underground the whole time just isn't for me. There are also some other odd design choices that keep it from ranking higher.

Started playing on launch, super fun overall but also fairly clunky in what it does. Has lots of promise however so I cant really complain as of right now ^^ One thing I do love is the sheer freedom in verticality and the minecrafty nature of placing all the things you can place. This game just feels like Factorio and Satisfactory had a baby and it was super into space industrialism. Cant wait to build a proper factory building ^^

While I like Foundry it just left me wanting to play Satisfactory. I'll never understand why devs put exhaustable nodes into the game. For me since satisfactory has infinite nodes it will always be my goat.

Hey Jace, forgive me if you answered this before. Your accent is decidedly light to an American ear. Did you spend a long time in America, have an American parent, etc.? I've noticed the same about Snutt.

Foundry is up to a decent start and can certainly become a fine game with the upcoming contents, but I can't see it "replace" Satisfactory for me. It lacks the entire exploration aspect so far and it feels very incomplete without the (upcoming) transportation systems. I also find it a lot less visually appealing and the controls feel oddly sluggish compared to Satisfactory. On the upside, the basic systems work nicely I think the base-building aspect has decent potential. Not in a way that will make its base building/design strictly better than SF, but at least meaningfully different. It's definitely worth a look and I'll keep revisiting it as they add new content. I think it may turn into a very enjoyable experience in the next 1-2 years. One little thing I hope they change is the extremely short drilling distance. I get that there is an upgrade for that later, but extending the basic drill distance by around 0.5-1.5 blocks would make the early game SO much more enjoyable.
