Real rock and roll-just as it should be played. What a great writer and performer he was. First saw him in 1968 in Edinburgh, Scotland and was hooked. Subsequently met him several times and was amazed at how humble and gracious he was. A true southern gentleman.

Carl perkins était un ami très proche du king il a dit et toute ça vie qu'Elvis était celui que tout les jeunes attendais et parlait de lui a chaque de ces concerts Carl venerai Elvis je l ai vu a l Élysée Montmartre a Paris en 1995 il a rendu un hommage à celui qu' il considérait comme un de ces vrais amis fidèles. Elvis disait Carl était intouchable dans l histoire du rock'n'roll. Que Carl repose en paix .

Carl Perkins was and will always be remembered as one of the great original Rockabilly performers. Learned how to play "Blue Suede Shoes" a long, long time ago and still play it a couple times a month.

Loved Carl Perkins I grew up with his music a combination of rock n Roll and Rockabilly, he could play a mean guitar. He Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran they were the best

It could be a 1956, the last year they used P-90s, the Bigsby would have probably been an after market addition. Although Gibson would do it too, for more money. I've watched other videos where he was playing a Gold Top with P-90s and a trapeze tail piece. That would make it a 1952 or 53. All worth big bucks today. Truly a COOOL CAT!

I loved all of his releases back from 1956 and on, including the superb 'Dance Album', pure quality rockabilly from Carl and the band - Still enjoy listening today - No one in that genre can touch the 'King'

Kindest Trip : what I Quoted was what Paul McCartney said. Paul was a huge Carl Perkins fan before the Beatles.. Also Eddie Cochran was a huge influence on Paul McCartney. I certainly didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. Paul knew all the words to Twenty Flight, that impressed John Lennon. Hope I didn't ruffle anyone's feathers. Actually Dixie Fried got to number-10 on the Country Charts in the fall of 1956. Unfortunately for Carl, it did not chart at all on the Billboard Pop Charts.
