I don't think I've ever seen Clapton so devoted, relaxed, free, and on fire, neither before nor afterwards. There's more energy put into those few minutes than during years of his playing. This isn't just another show, it's a legend giving his absolute all just for the fun of it. And man did he deliver. MAN did he deliver.

This is a good performance from EC, but I have heard him better. Check out him with Buddy Guy at Ronnie Scott's in the 80s, white room from the 80s at the NEC Birmingham with Phil Collins on the drums and the Martin Scorsese doc concert Nothin but the blues from the 90s.

It is so cool how they are all there to honor Carl and Carl kind of sits back and gives them the spotlight. That shows the humbleness of Carl and just how much of a great man he was as well as an entertainer, musician, and songwriter.

We should take note and learn to play real music like these guys did.. What is the point of playing music if you can't dance to. Carl Perkins Wow.. He was amazing..
@jacksprat30097 жыл бұрын
Right on! Dirge rock where everybody stares and maybe lights a match or something. But to dance you have to have a space to do that. But that's what's needed. Real rock and roll isn't meant to be sat and stared at. When it's good, it's meant to get you out of your self and MOVE!

Everytime I see this clip I get angry because it states it is at the Capitol Theater, but it isn't. It;s not even in the USA. The Studio was Limehouse Studios London. In 1985 Carl Perkins meant very little to Americans except as a guy who had one hit record "Blue Suede Shoe". In the U.K. he was always revered as a rock legend where these superstars first became interested in rock 'n' roll, and many took up playing guitar because of him. Now you want to bask in his limelight & say it was filmed it the USA. Well it WASN'T, as I said it was in the UK at Limehouse studios. Now alter the heading to read the correct location if you've got the balls to be honest in your life for once.
