I think it's because recent events are bringing it all back up. There's the whole Abi thing, Carla finds out Peter's struggling and hiding it from her- but not Abi. Abi, Peter's ex who Carla already has concerns about both on an emotional level and as a risk to Peter's sobriety that Peter dismisses. then Abi comes on to Peter, and the suggestion they're having an affair is raised- even if false. which probably set off alarm bells to Carla. They've been distant from each other which has been worrying Carla. It all probably just feels a little too familiar to her. Plus Carla and Peter have never really discussed/ dealt with any of it, the affair or the miscarriage's it got brushed under the rug as Carla was convinced she'd never want Peter back. 4 years later, They impulsively jumped into a relationship and since then it's been one thing after another. Tina was briefly hinted at I think during 2018 during an interview and applicant looked like her- but they brushed it off. She was always going to come up at some point in their relationship, it was just a case of how.
