Always. Dirt bag hiking is the elite. Miss you too brother. The episodes are getting close to our time in the sierras. I’m looking forward to piecing that section together.

Master Trekker Rabbit racking up the miles! Thanks for all of the likes and answers to my questions in the previous episodes! Cowboy camping on trail seems to be your style, best choice for a good early start to meet your goal. Keep on trekking!

Thank you so much for all the support and kind words! I really do love cowboy camping, it’s such an easy set up when exhausted in the evening and easy pack up in the morning. Cheers! -Rabbit

Just in awe of those perfect weather days and sunsets. Wowza! I would take a perfect weather night on the side of the PCT over an over priced hotel room any day! I am so envious of your cowboy camping! Wish I had met you on trail!

The sunrises and sunsets were incredible! Such a great way to start and end a day! I got quite lucky with the weather and took full advantage of it to cowboy camp. Meeting on the trail would have been awesome! How was the weather during your hike?
@havecoffeewilltravel35073 күн бұрын
@carlblanchet my start date was April 3rd. Delayed due to winter rains. Had to get off twice for rain/ snow storms. I only got to cowboy camp once at mile 70ish before leaving trail. I dream about that now! Going to do a redo this year hopefully. The cdn exchange rate is not in my favor though. So watching you budget is a great teaching guide
@carlblanchet2 күн бұрын
@@havecoffeewilltravel3507 That sounds like a completely different experience with the snow storms and rain. As a fellow Canadian, I feel your pain. I thought the exchange was bad this year… hard to watch it drop even more as I hope to return to the trails in 2025 as well. Hopefully you have some better weather all around next time and get to cowboy camping as much as you want!

Love watching your journey...and those sunrises...wow!!! Oh...and I most often prefer camping outdoors to a hotel room but given your long adventure, I can imagine a hotel room is in order some of the time too.

@@LivingMoreFully thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment! I have to admit, I was craving a comfortable bed and good night’s sleep by this point of the trail 😅 but it would have to wait.

Love how the munchies got the better of you 😂 what was your weight starting out and what was it here?
@carlblanchet3 күн бұрын
@@nmcdonogh haha they sure did… when I weight myself with and without my backpack at magic man’s scale i could see that my pack weighed 25 pounds with 2 L of water. After the resupply I had 2.5 L more adding an extra 5.5 pounds, plus alll that food… my pack would have been easily 50 lbs.. plus I was carrying a grocery bag full of food to camp 😂

I took the hotel room for two nights and slackpacked the 8 miles between the roads on my day "off". But hey, I had 40 days to do just the desert, you want to do the whole thing in 90.

@@wandertaxi This is the way to do it! My motivation was dropping by this point from constantly pushing and pushing with no comfort. I imagine a day of rest really helped with keeping the motivation high?
