I received my Carlinkit 4.0 about two weeks ago. I bought it following some very interesting reviews. I don't think I'm a technophobe, in fact I have a diploma in IT so, normally, I'm able to understand what I'm buying. The adverts, the reviews and so on are all showing Netflix and KZbin being played. I can't say for sure that the 4.0 is "specifically" shown as being able to play Netflix and KZbin but, I really thought that it would from everything I'd seen. If you look down through the reviews here, I'm not the only one who thought it would have this functionality. It doesn't!!! Having said that, it does play Android Auto in my car very well, no connectivity issue, hardly any lag when I connected using the short wire that came with it. There was a greater lag when I used the longer wire that I had been using to plug in prior to getting this device. So, my own fault, suck it up?? I suppose so...... Just don't buy this if you're expecting it to play Netflix or KZbin. If I'm wrong about this, please, please correct me and show me what to do.

All that this model does is make the OEM wired Apple CarPlay into wireless. It also adds wireless Android Auto to cars with only wired AC available. No stock AC or AA allows for KZbin or Netflix videos to be played. You would need a stand-alone Android box that works independently from your phone in order to watch KZbin or Netflix. That dongle would then need a hotspot connection from your phone for data.

I recently purchased this product. My car (Opel Astra K - 2018 model) has wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The CarLinkIt 4.0 connects to the car as if it were an Apple Carplay device, which the car recognizes. But when I then connect my Samsung phone to the CarLinkit via bluetooth, the car's display gets confused and keeps flashing. With an iPhone, it works fine. Not so for Android smartphones. Just as a comparison, I connected my Samsung phone DIRECTLY to the car via USB cable, and Android Auto starts up and works perfectly fine.

Hi, try go to your phone settings, developer options, look for Bluetooth AVRCP, if it is 1.4, set it to 1.5 and connect with Carlinkit again. I have another carlinkit product, and it would not connect with my OnePlus 7 Bluetooth. In the end I figured out the AVRCP version is the culprit.

Only down fall android isn't a dedicated choice it gets boot legged through Apple carplay so everything's delayed.....I have a Samsung and wife has a iPhone works almost perfect for her carplay but sometimes won't switch to the one we want when both phones in car you have to keep clicking which phone you want to connect too and sometimes just unplug it and plug back in haven't found out how to disconnect from a phone on the screen or go back to the carlink home screen if it's already on carplay either

@@deemapaki Yes, and yes. It is the only fix I know to get Android Auto to work great on a AppleCarPlay only unit. Get the CarLink 4 not the 5 because they made some changes, and not sure if 5 will work or not.

There’s no way around it. If you are having connectivity issues, I suggest upgrading ur phone plan. That would solve your issue

I have one of these carlink 4.0 and tried on ldv t60 max 2023, it works well with an iPhone however with an Android phone, its work until the safety and reverse camera comes on the off the whole screen turned in to green, does any one have this issue or have resolve this bug?

I received the Carlinkit 4.0 today. I tested it first in my Nissan, and it worked perfectly. I then move it to my 2020 Subaru Outback, which is where I intend to use it so that I can emulate CarPlay and use my Android phone for full screen Android Auto. The unit linked properly via Bluetooth, I was presented with the "Authorize Car Play" screen, and also the Carlinkit screen showing connection being made to my phone. The CarPlay icon appeared on my screen as expected. Everything seemed to be good. However, when I click on the CarPlay icon literally nothing happens on my screen. I am not taken to CarPlay - nothing. The link is active and in full color, but nothing happens. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Thank you.

Start by updating the CarLinkIt firmware. If that doesn’t do it then check to see if you can update the firmware on your car nav.

I bought this devise, once I set it up seems to work ok. But when I turned the car OFF turn it back on again it took almost 2 minutes to reconnect. Not worth the $98 I paid for. I'll just stick with USB plug in, it's faster, easer no fuss, no worries.

Leave the dongle connected, make sure the auto connect setting is on and every time you start the car will auto connect.

My carlinkit 4.0 literally 9/10 times runs terribly slow like 5 second delay to button press and moving maps around takes ages and freezes. THEN 1/10 it works great smooth connection runs well all buttons have half a second delay all apps after pressed open straight away. WHY IS THIS!!!! 😭😅

@@arturgacek I tried to connect it once it arrived but I can't. But I tried again 2 days later n it work with my samsung s22 ultra. It will connect but from carplay platform. Sometimes it will connect quickly but sometimes take take longer. Always keep wife on n make sure Bluetooth is not connect with you head unit Bluetooth. Cuz it won't find the carlinkit. Something very important on your android auto app check all setting I was able to enable a setting that was the moment that connect to the carlinkit.

It work I was about to give up n return it the first day I got it. 2 day later I tried again n it work. Make sure Bluetooth is not connect to your head unit. On the android auto app there is a setting that you need to enable. Like I said now that I can connect it sometimes connect quick sometime take time. Sometime I need to open Bluetooth n press the carlinkit to look for it.

If you have carplay you have android auto, check your setting in the vehicle and make sure AA is on and maybe turn CarPlay off if u don’t use it

@@SweetLou0523 I was referring to current models, if it’s an older model car how could you expect to have the latest additions I think your best options are probably that the car came with an Aux input thats probably the extent of what else is available Or go see if you can get an update at the dealership but I wouldn’t expect your dash to become the 2.0 version with bells and whistles tho

If your car has CarPlay and you can connect it with your iPhone through USB then this will make it so you don’t have to connect it through USB. If your car has no CarPlay at all then this is not working for you.

My personal opinion ...a useless piece of junk. Received mine today after watching many reviews. Constantly freezes, connection drops constantly (every few minutes) requiring removal of usb connection to reset. Initially thought it may be my phone, so got my wife to try it with her new iPhone 14 max she got yesterday. Same issues. Then thought maybe it was my Car so tried 3 different cars this afternoon...same issues
