Carlisle at Night - 1999 - Part 2

Despite it being 1999 we only had 2 sheds through Carlisle and they were in the early evening. This video is shot under the harsh station lights and we see a variety of traffic passing the station. This 27 minute clip is just a 4 hour stint on the station as the station clock shows 22.50 as 6004 departs South. There are three superb Grid departures from the station, the best being 56091 'Stanton' on a lengthy Mossend to Newport ADJ 'Enterprise. Other highlights include some Class 92's on Enterprise traffic, 37379 on the 6M57 Hoyer train from Tees Dock and 47736 on the Mossend Euroterminal to Willesden Parcel Force Piggy back service, an unfortunately short lived flow. The number of Class 92s! Now you never see any. And who might have thought that 86s would be in service for another 20 years - and that 56s would still be around too

Will we be saying that in another 20 years time?! Who knows. I have been at Carlisle and seen 8 different 92's on Freight workings in the early 2000's. I have a DVD set with a friend of mine who is starting to convert the files for me so i can post them on here!! So, there will be plenty of Barnetby, Doncaster and Carlisle action to come in the future!!

Carlisle is a shadow of itself now, think there is only 1 coal train per day through there now whilst we had about 17 MGRs through in our 12 hour stint!!! Glad you enjoyed it Robert. Cheers

@@roberthill6216 As always i wish i had done things a bit differently. I have just given some DVDs to a friend of mine who will process the files for me as my PC is incapable of doing it. These clips will be from 2001 and 2002 when i visited Barnetby an awful lot to capture the last days of the 56's but there is a lot of footage shot from the station as it was nicely lit during darkness and the 56s climbed uphill from Wrawby Jn so hopefully some good audio. Just wish i had tried some different locations around the area but given another chance we would all do things differently
