Their biggest competitors will remain Zverev and Medvedev ( on HC ) , and maybe Djokovic if he can get his sh!t together mentally , I don't think his physical decline is as nearly as bad as his motivational loss but who could blame him after all the records he has broken and at his age . I think that Alcaraz is the best tennis player ever at the age of 21. No Federer, no Nadal, no Djokovic were so complete, so technically perfect, so fast as Alcaraz. Than we'll see in the future what will happen.

And this is why to me there's no such thing as GOAT. The best players in history seem to be eq6ally good, just with different styles. I would agree to the title most successful player, which of course at this point would be Djokivic.
@blabla-fw9ix7 ай бұрын
Alcaraz has his flaws just like everybody else , especially when conditions get fast and indoors . He is somebody who needs some time to set up his shots and if you can take that time away he can seem vulnerable , he also has an issue of spraying too many errors quite often . No chance he would for example be beating a prime Nadal at the FO playing like he did against Sinner .
@blabla-fw9ix7 ай бұрын
@@tomsd8656 No , comparing levels is hard and that is why records and achievements are going to be more important than anything . Lets see if the likes of Alcaraz and Sinner can play on a super elite level for the next 15 years like the big 3 did , there is a reason why they are a breed apart from anybody else . Novak is undoubtably the GOAT with everything he has achieved and it is up to the next generations to see if they can surpass him , he is the new benchmark that everybody will focus on so nobody is more deserving of the GOAT status than him . Most slams , most ATP Finals , most masters 1000 , most yen1 , most weeks at n1 , positive h2h against biggest rivals , I mean what more does he need to do to be the GOAT ? Wawrinka when he is on his highest level could play like a god at times but it is consistency that is the biggest difference . He even with his crazy level still managed to win only 3 slams compared to the big 3 who won 20 or more .
@davideangeleri56647 ай бұрын
@@blabla-fw9ix I fully agree with your comment and all your analysis. What I wanted to underline is just that, If we compare, at the age of 21, the big three with Alcaraz, I think Alcaraz is superior to all of them. Alcaraz has the intensity of Nadal, the speed and flexibility of Novak, the pure technic and fantasy of federer, the power on all sides of tennis, he is perfect at the net, he has touch. None of big three has all the caracteristics in one player like Alcaraz has. Than, from the point of view of wins, titles etc... no argue that Nole is the best and Federer Nadal just a little behind.

Alcaraz is a great player, but I just can't stand all the antics; the incessant fist in the air after EVERY point won...- even the first point in the first game (!) - the habitual looking at his box after EVERY point.. the shaking of his racket after EVERY point won.. the grunting AFTER he hit the ball.. it becomes fatiguing and simply annoying to watch. Is he that insecure that he needs confirmation from his box as much as he's clearly seeking? He seems like a nice person but on court his behavior shows a bit of autism really. Maybe I'm a bit too old school in this.. but when I started watching tennis mid 1980's right till the Federer era... players were more manly in that respect and didn't constantly look at their coach for approval or confirmation. It has a trickle down effect; you can also clearly see it in women's tennis as well as with the younger generation of amateurs / recreational players. In my opinion Federer was the last great champion who was in his own world on court and being able to change strategy when needed without the annoying and distracting behavior that is euphemistically translated as "showing emotion" or "winner's mentality".
@theDunamis7 ай бұрын
Naah, you are not "a bit too old school". You are a stick-in-the-mud. The younger generation do NOT need to nor do they have to do things the way the older generation did it. I don't think so , Zverev got pushed to 5 sets by some mediocre players while beating Nadal in 3 . Nadal's serve and his movement are nothing compared to what he was in the past , his BH is also problematic . Nothing suggests that Nadal would have made it far besides his achievements and his aura at the FO . And yes it isn't the same Nadal , even Novak doesn't look like himself , I mean they are 38 and 37 respectfully , their time has come to an end as much as we want to see them have it least one more slam hurrah it isn't happening .

I can not wait till either Sabalenka or Osaka become number one. We need genuine, principled women like Aryna and Naomi to be at the top and a role model, as oppose to a propagandist / populist person like Swiatek. ATP members never did what WTP members did and are still doing with the lead of Iga Swiatek to the Russian and Belarusian players. Everyone knows that no individual is capable to change their government's decisions regardless of the individual's position on the matter. The only thing we can do is to express our stand on the matter clearly , as all of these players did. They all condemned the war many times, even though they are governed by autocratics knowing that it may endanger the rest of their family members who live in these countries. Interestingly only as soon as polish farmers realized what is happening, Swiatek stopped , merely because she knew that the psychological damage on Russian and Belarusian players (who are always the most threat to her I must add) was irreparable by then, and because she was afraid that she will lose polish fans. Since then many wars are being fought and Iga did not make even one short comment! What does that tell you about her morality and ethics?! She very well is aware, how difficult it is to find sponsors, in particular when you are just starting your tennis career, yet she went after players over who is sponsoring them!!! Hitting a ball is only a part of the job, yes she can hit the ball But when you compare Naomi Osaka or Aryna Sabalenka and you see humanity at its best, then you understand what it takes to be a true champion. Aryna chooses a coach that rather looking like a bulletin board for different corporations, wears a hat that says " WATER IS LIFE." Even after all the havoc and upsets Swiatek caused after the war started Aryna is genuinely nice to her ! The same with ATP players, Alcaraz and Sinner are two men who embody humanity, humility and decency. Today Sinner played as number one in the world and Alcaraz played to make history as the youngest man to reach three GS semifinals. None of them roared like a gorilla when under pressure, none of them disrespected the spectators who came to enjoy their time by throwing a tantrum ( calling it being passionate about the game, like a guy who beats up his wife and kids and say it is because I care lmao) even though they both were under enormous pressure; AND TO TOP it someone in the audience had a medical emergency and the two of them were talking to each other at the most crucial time of the game, asking, how to get the person who was having trouble some water!!!!! THIS IS A TRUE MAN! Utter control and power and confidence, understanding that tennis is not who they are but what they do and how well they can play while they give 200% everytime they are on the court and that's it. Alcaraze's parents laugh and give one another a kiss when he is losing, while Stefano Tsitsipase's parents belittle each other in front of the whole world when things get tough on the court ... Rune treats his mother like rubbish while Sinner Thanks his for supporting him...Zverev and kyrgios beat up women a learnt behaviour, indicating their dads were violent monkeys... Djokovic throw tennis matches in the middle of a pandemic so that he wouldn't lose his edge, and does not vaccinate when there was a huge confusion over it, even though scientifically it was proven that vaccination is crucial for the individual and public health....On the court if he was about to lose he would turn into a frightening roaring gorilla .... I don't know but I"ll go with Sinner and Alcaraz Sabalenka and Osaka as role models ...
