@@FATCAPObviously each player is unique and we saw how the Federer comparisons affected Dimitrov at times, but as fans we can't help a little fun. For me, I saw Alcaraz as the new Nadal for his passionate never-say-die personality and sheer speed on the court. (But really he has elements of all of the Big 3's tennis) Sinner was most Federer-like due to his calm demeanor and much improved serve (completely different play styles though, which is closer to Djokovic) And for a while Rune kinda filled the Djokovic role as the guy who arrived after the other two, good backhand and return, not afraid to work up the crowd... Hope he re-finds the form he started showing end of 2022 and through 2023

I would describe Carlos Alcaraz as a poetic player. Very graceful, technical almost like a dance but a sort of style that is classic like ballet. i see the delicate but i also feel the power and the strength. He is certainly an all-rounder, a complete player as they say, and I have a feeling he will outlast most of the youngins around his age. Vamos Carlitos!

I said before. Jack has put in a great effort this week but he's been lucky that his last two matches were at night. I'm not sure he'd have even got to this stage if they'd been in the heat of day. We still don't know how well he can handle the heat when he is not exhausted like today. Still, he is a fighter and deserves credit for making it to this match.

Alcaraz needs to raise the level for QF. He is playing incredible when the score is favourable, but when the match get tense, as for closing the first set he start to make a lot of errors, that of course you cant see in highlights. I dont know if it is confidence or if he try to be more conservative and he start doing strange errors for his level.. but hope he can fix it for the next match

@@revio000Draper has had hip problems in the past ,,. After his last match he said it was niggling him again ... Tbh he's had fitness issues for a long time. Don't know what he could do to fix his hip . He won't win a slam playing for 15anahalf hours for 3 matches. He believes he can outlast other players by grinding them down.... No Jack ,,, not gonna happen.

I might be wrong but I don't think anyone has ever won a slam coming in uncooked and playing 3 5 setters in the first week. He didn't have a chance today pure and simple. The irony of it is, had he been fully fit and firing, I think he would have won today because Alcaraz wasn't at it for the most part.

What’s noticeable is Gwen Draper is stretched, he’s happy to return it to the centre of the court and this allows Alcaraz to dominate. He needs to work on getting the ball back in play but with more on it. Easy to say, not so easy to do but without it, Alcaraz can play within himself and control the rally.

@@meruendano Rune a lo más que ha llegado en grand slams es a QF, y está lejos de su mejor nivel. No está ni en el top 10, para Sinner eso es pan comido... Seamos honestos, Sinner tiene rivales que no le dan ni para empezar, viene con un pie en la final antes de empezar. Sin embargo Nole siempre es un rival durísimo, para Carlos, para Sinner o para cualquiera. Sinner tiene a Rune y De Minaur/Shelton y Alcaraz a Nole y Zverev (a un nivel brutal también). Noche y día.... no fastidies. Es el número 1 y le tocan rutas más fáciles, bien es así, pero no vendas humo.

Thought Alcaraz recovered well today. He seemed to be overthinking a bit--like when he played Tiafoe at Wimbledon 2024--and definitely was a bit rattled by the (unfair imho) time warning from the umpire. Eh? He had a hip injury during the off season and that's what's bothering him here. But congrats on being the only nasty commenter in this thread that I've seen so far. Everyone else just admiring both players.

Last year he threw up immediately after a match. Against Sinner in the US Open he was continually throwing up and yet finished the match. He came in to this tournament with an injury and no match practice and battled 15 hours to win 3 5 setters in a row. Does he have fitness problems? Yes. Does he have problems with heat? Yes. Is he a quitter? Not even close.
