I have been listening to his music for 50 years and I have come to the conclusion that Carlos Santana is not only a great Mexican and American musician who has pioneered an innovative fusion of rock and Latin American music. In my opinion Carlos is an exceptional person: he has an extraordinary talent for creativity and self-expression, like many other famous writers, poets, actors, singers and musicians. He is positive, vital, optimistic and passionate. I feel that the warm and vital energy that he transmits with his music is born within him and is heated in the universe to give serenity and joy to those who listen to it. Heartfelt thanks Carlos

It’s all about the money these days. People with real talent know they will be screwed by the music industry that some of the less naive refuse to become apart of it. We see studio musicians that played with single named artists that doesn’t get any credit for their creative input in helping the named artist/singer achieve great success. Case in point was Butch Trucks, drummer for the Allman Brothers Band well his drumming was such a unique style that had it not been his drumming, the songs you today would have been a lot different. The only money Butch made was when he played on stage like a lot of other great musicians. Butch got tired and couldn’t keep working to sustain himself so he took his life at 69.
@jeffreyday2414 Жыл бұрын
@@deaf19830 if you're using Butch as an example, that was those (old) days, not these days. If you don't get songwriting credits/publishing, you usually only get paid when touring.

Nobody on earth can deliver the Energy and brilliance of Carlos Santana in the ZONE... The wall of percussion. Two vocalists singing clear and heavenly. And Carlos' scorching melodic Ultra rhymic solos , fills and notes... Hendrix and Zappa took notice early on. Carlos changed everything. If there are guitar concerts in Heaven Carlos Santana is the top of the ticket. Baila❤ Mi Hermanas and hermanos. Baila.

Are you saying that there is a certain amount of notes that one must limit oneself to in order to play with “soul” ? If you don’t enjoy McLoughlin’s playing, that’s one thing. But the suggestion that more notes means less soul has no validity.

I feel emotional about this greatness. The length of his career doing his version of the afro-Cuban sound. Is that progressive rock? It was. Now it's Montreux Jazz Festival. On top of that, I invited my widowed mother to her one and only rock concert in I think it was 1982. Santana at Pine Knob on the lawn. She and Dad used to dance to a cover of Evil Ways at the local bar.

Ones he played on Maui where he has a place at the Maui CC. My daughter thru an envelope on stage with some Maui Wowie I grow in the jungle of east Maui > Upper Nahiku. He smelled it and did safe it for later. He is send from Heaven. On top of everything he is deeply spiritual but open minded and enjoys home-grown. But he would alwaays smile
