The 1989 Albert Hall Live performance was absolutely the best performance of Breakout, studio version or live. Everyone on that stage was in perfect sync. Andy's rumba insertion was sheer genius. And, SOS was under extreme pressure to "get it right", because Prince Charles and Diana were in the audience!

Corinne is much more relaxed performing in this video than she was in the first "Breakout Live" video recorded in 1987 This version, recorded at Brixton Academy in London in 2001, is the best live version of "Breakout" to date. Corinne truly is one of the best female vocalists of our time and the Brixton performance proves it!

Actually, the 1989 Royal Albert performance for Prince Charles and Dianna was the best live performance of Breakout to date. It was simply flawlwss, entirely live, and not even a hint of a mistake. It is extremely difficult to pull off a live performance of a tune like this that has so many elements, but they did it in 1989! I wish someone would post that performance on KZbin again!

I love Corinne Drewery and her two male collaborators of Swing Out Sister . She may not have the greatest singing range but neither did Dionne Warwick , Astrud Gilberto , Shirley Horn, Anita Baker ,etc . but what all of the aforementioned had , in different ways, a certain original voice . And I love Corrine Drewery, and those mentioned herein, none of them is egotistical like so many artists, singers and musicians are .
