As a matter of fact, you can pre-farm most of Carlotta's materials. She uses the same gun mats and bandit rings (for her signature) as previous characters, so you can farm those. But you can also pre-farm a ton of whispering and howler cores. The new portable synthesis machine allows us to convert mats of a same type to another mat at 2:1. For a lv90 Carlotta with all skills to rank 10, you will need 122 gold cores, 104 purple cores, 80 blue cores, and 58 green. You can then convert them to the new cores when 2.0 comes out. Kuro also stated that we can immediately farm the new bosses before we even touch they story. So the only thing we won't be able to pre-farm are the flowers.

It's not needed but some people like them to make it easier to understand what's happening when they do things. You can easily get away with just pressing buttons in this game
