I like to keep everything in one journal, I understand the idea of all the different journals but I think the searchability of a digital journal allows for the ability to keep everything in one place. If anything journals by year are ok. But I would use tags inside on the one journal instead or all the different ones. Having all those journals and organization is a bit cumbersome for many.

Hi Carl, I am kind of power user of Day One. I use the app very similar to you, every morning I start the entry with one headline, and text to the day before. I tried to attached minimum one picture, but in most days more than three. This comes after a little while, when my wife Evelyn said why do you only use one picture every day. There is a saying one picture equals 1000 words. When we are with our grand children, then it will be one video every day, I dictate most of my entries, and I am busy to put in my hand written journals from past year. This will probably be a never ending story, as I have over 70 years to cover. The start for me is my original birth certificate, and on some days, I have over 20 years of content, stories, sometimes links, sometimes photos for me the best option of the journal is “on this day”. Hi share the information with my wife, she will sometimes add some of her thoughts and so I will improve on my content all the time. The app also offers book printing, which I have not tried so far, because I’m afraid of content mistakes.

My work journal (using Journey) has saved my bacon many times. I've been journaling my daily work tasks for a few years and being able to search for notes on how I did something 11 months ago is fantastic. Thanks for the recommendation I’ll check it out - I’ve used the free version of Day One on Mac and iPad but I work on Windows too. The tasks in Day One are rather habits, so no tasks that are in the task manager or tasks that could be assigned to a project? I asked this in a comment to another video, basically Day One is (among other things) your Habit Tracker? In some apps this is also called "Daily Notes" and means that you assign a note to a specific date (Craft does this for example).
@Carl_Pullein2 жыл бұрын
No. Just my morning routines (just to track consistency) Day One is my journal first and foremost. I do use it to keep track of new habits, but once I am consistent I will delete the tracking. No need to add more work than is necessary.

How you journal needs to work for you. Day One and Evernote work excellently- it depends on which you prefer. I would say that keeping things as simple as possible will help you to remain consistent. It not about doing more. It’s about having some time for yourself to stop, reflect and think about what you are about to do today is the best thing for you. Life should never be all about work. Hi Carl - great video, journaling is one of the things I'm looking to do more of this year. It might not matter / be accurate, but for lots of the screen sharing your location is visible at the bottom of Day One (feel free to delete this comment if it draws attention to that or it's in-accurate).

Hi Matt, thanks for the heads up. I'd wish anyone trying to find me the very best of luck. The Korean address system is a mystery to all but a very select few LOL.

Sie sprechen langsam und der Untertitel macht es mir möglich Sie gut zu verstehen. Danke für das Video

I do sometimes miss the feel of pen on paper when writing my journal.
