You can edit levels with a 5 minute setup to have your Switch run CFW. You can upload the level files from the sd card and put them on Google drive. Then anyone with CFW/Atmosphere. Can easily place them on their switch and it places it under there created courses instead of user created. It's amazingly quick and easy. Not hard or time consuming.

For anyone wondering about the uno mas level, the reason everything in the BG was so weird was because that glitch causes the horizontal ground theme to load, but if the area is vertical, then it stays vertical, but above the second screen there is no BG, so the canvas never gets reset up there, and anything drawn stays until something is drawn on top of it.

a few things you might've missedt: 9:28 the donuts are flashing 9:35 the stones and clouds are on tracks even though tracks arent in sm3dw, stones arent normally in sm3dw i think, the stones have wings but you cant see them 10:05 the chief is basically builder toadette 10:10 giant 1ups 10:17 the checkpoint is slightly misplaced to the left 10:25 the subarea is in night proven by the thwomp moving left/right, t-posing drybones, the black blocks under the spikes are from when you place a clear pipe or spike at the top of the level and are what stop you from jumping over them, the bill blaster has a invisible parachute 10:54 luigi is technically in a goomba shoe/stiletto/drybones shell proven by the bouncing and luigi not getting hit by the spikes 13:58 the black blocks mentioned earlier are here and some ar combined with blinking blocks and invisible blocks, the pipe is overlapped, the crate has invisible wings 14:04 black block, centered cp, giant spring, the giant koopa troopa car is in a pipe

"Implemented" is not technically accurate. All he did was add those elements to the level even though they don't appear in editor, proving that there's really no reason for the styles to be any different aside from lack of graphics because those things still function as intended.

I mean maybe if he changed to make it not p2p but instead donated a big ass server to Nintendo and changed their network infrastructure. It'd probably be about a $750k+ investment but would fix all the problems in any Nintendo game, say Smash for example, or SMM2.

@@somebakedgood Easy fix for man in the middle is SSL, it's a security measure that like 90% of web services have, basically gets a clean connection and your done for the time on said game... There'd be no purpose to sniff packets with a MitM attack, the most sensitive thing you might send out to the dedicated server is your location in-game on whatever you're playing. The main reason a dedicated server is better is that It's faster than p2p almost 100% of the time, and everyone's games will be the same. Another reason to have a dedicated server is for the speed even with slow internet's connected it can still work (with a couple of latency issues). The reason p2p is good, is that it's waay cheaper and easier to setup. With little to no maintenance. The downfall of p2p is how slow it can get if someone in the connection has bad wifi. I do think p2p is the best choice for Nintendo just because of how little information you are sending from peer to peer, but Nintendo has the option for it if they decide.

I think i understand that door glitch which makes you go drugs: First, the frame perfect double entry with the powerup confuses the game so hard that instead of crashing, the devs made the level reset. This reset doesnt load the proper settings, but instead defaults them, so that the background above the standard horizonta level height is empty. Every frame, the old frame doesnt get overwritten by the background (there was a similar glitch in SM3DWorld on one stage), resulting in drugs. Also, weird palette thing can happen, as seen the first time with this glitch on castle theme.

What the glitch does is send the player to the bottom left corner of the current area. Then it changes the theme to default ground theme, so the background changes too. But the the default background is for horizontal levels so there is no background bring drawn in the top portion. So every frame it draws every object, but since there's no background drawing it's not covering up all the previous frames.

The hall of mirrors effect probably comes from there being no background, and the rendering works by every frame either drawing the background then drawing all the sprites in front of it from back to front; or by drawing all the sprites from front to back, then the background, but also tracking which pixels have already been drawn that frame and never drawing the same pixel twice. (That is the method used in the Doom engine, which also exhibited the same behavior if a room was too large to see the back wall or if you idspispopd out of the level geometry. In either case, if a pixel is not drawn during a given frame, it remains the color that it was last frame.

The trip effect is caused by the game not clearing the buffer it draws into between frames. When there's background, it's drawn first and so it covers the previously drawn stuff, but since the glitch lets You get beyond where background is drawn, You can still see what has been drawn in the previous frame and the game only adds to it, thus this happens. Thus there ain't anything to patch about the trip effect itself, it is intended way of optimisation (assuming You are supposed to always see background, You'd never see that happening and it's a bit faster than clearing the whole buffer with black first). The "getting out of bounds" however, that's something they ought to look into.

@trollbagley43 Well yea, obviously the level thinks it's supposed to continue there, otherwise it wouldn't let You there. But it's out of where the normal bounds are supposed to be, that's why I called it that, including the quoted grain of salt. Out of bounds generally means the area of game map where the player ain't supposed to get to. The background stays in the original mode tho, that is why the "trip effect" happens due to the buffer not being cleared and player getting outside of the background, which is what I was focusing on anyway.

Most people probably know this by now, but the "high" glitch is basically that the game doesn't clear the framebuffer every frame, instead the background is opaque and normally drawing the background will overwrite it. But, if you manage to go outside the normal area for the level, there is no background there, so the framebuffer doesn't get cleared. What ends up there is normally whatever was drawn there last frame, but when you pause the system does a lot of other things with the video memory, including taking a "screenshot" of the game graphics to show behind the popup menu (the game isn't actually still drawing in the background). So, that image can wind up in the framebuffer, which will let you see it on the next frames, but it might be a smaller size or laid out differently.

Found out about Crispr Cas9 originally from the Machines of Our Disgrace album from circle of dust. Just a quick input on crispr, while it was exciting, it has recently been found that there are a lot of off target effects. Just pubmed crispr off target effects. I think its important not to jump too fast on that band wagon. We are working to make it better but it is no where near perfect yet. Our lab has actually moved away from that method because you cannot account for everything
