In my view Magnus's greatest strength is his insane ability to remain cool and play sublime chess even when he is put under the greatest pressure and stress. Most would blunder and fall away. I still see it as a small miracle how these top masters can think so fast, so efficiently when there are mere seconds to go. It's remarkable and a tribute to human ability. Great to watch and marvel.

Really, you are the GM of the “chess talk” ! I was listening to all funny (descriptive) phrases … meanwhile observing all moves. Thanks, very entertaining.
@mountainpark82166 ай бұрын
It's funny the first time you hear it. By the third it's just tedious. It's a knight not a pony FFS, we are not all watching for the first time. And the whiny sing-song delivery gets really grating. Positives: great pacing, perceptive analysis which together bring the games alive. The delivery is slightly more bearable if you play at 1.25x speed.

@@mountainpark8216 Agree to disagree. While it might not be your preference, James’ approach appeals to a lot of folks. Like Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, there’s entertainment value in inside jokes that get recycled. Danny’s hyper style was quite divisive as well, but I find both entertaining and educational. That said, I appreciate why they might not be for everyone. Luckily for us, there are now plenty of options for us to choose from.
