Hi there I have a fault code tool that picks up basic codes? I have a BMW 330e plug in hybrid. A few days ago I received a drivetrain malfunction msg drive moderately? My tool does not pick it up? Will the Carly tool pick it up & tell me the exact problem? Or will it give me give me a number of possible faults? Don't want to leave it to the mechanic to give me a number of problems? Need the exact part I need replacing? Car not boosting as usual?

BUYER BEWARE: If you are considering using Carly, DON'T. If you know that is what you want and you are sure it will work with your vehicle, then buy it. When you do buy access to the software and it does not work, Carly WILL NOT refund regardless of how long you had the license, be it hours or days. Also be warned the license auto renews whether you want it or not.

BUYER BEWARE : They claim to support cars after 2001 ! On one of my cars , ML 320 W163 2000' even though the software on the app was showing the model and year 2000 , when the scanner arrived it became apparent that it could only communicate with the Engine ECU and nothing else ! After contacting them on the matter , they refunded 20 % off the price that I paid and canceled my anual payment !

Carly is a scam. I ordered the premium option with smart mechanic and they responded that I need to buy the scanner again even though the web store. Says the scanner is free. I wrote to support and they just send a canned response. Avoid Carly

This video didn't clearly indicate if this product can do more than what the cheap generic EM327 adaptors and cheap apps can do. The main issue is being able to diagnose all of the systems in the car (SRS, transmission, etc) and not just the engine systems.

About 80$ Canadian gets you the Carly, and that comes with a free lite version app that you can use on all cars, then you can subscribe and you get extra diagnostic shit.

Buy the Thinkdiag device, it can do a lot more than this device and the app is top notch. They (think) has multiple devices, but I think most people would like the Thinkdiag product. You're welcome. Autel also make a good odb tool and have a good app, but I prefer Thinkdiag

It might work - for some models. For others, you just have to pay a subscription. Here's the realy neat part: I did not find a way to figure out if I had to pay the subscription until _after_ I purchased the adaptor. If you then want to understand what the codes are, you have to shell out another 40$ for "carly smart mechanic". Carly's pricing is absolutely obfuscated - stay away! I'd go as far as calling carly a deceitful, purposefully misleading company.
